What Must We Do with God
Like it or not, everyone has to deal with God. Obey God or reject God. Believe God or rebel against God. One way or another, you have to face God. For no one can escape from God no matter who you are or where you are.
It is wise to do as the Bible says. Your life depends on it.
The most unthinkable is for a man, in fact, a maggot to sin against the Almighty God.
Christianity is neither superstition nor science. Superstition is based on false and unfounded beliefs and fears. Science is limited by human and empirical and tentative knowledge at a time and place. Christianity is the revealed religion. Only God makes revelation of the ultimate truth and wisdom. Revelation cannot be achieved by human discovery or wisdom. Christianity is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was God who became Man to reveal God and spiritual things to human beings.
1. The Church of Jesus Christ is the pillar of truth.
2. The Roman Catholic Church is historically false, full of heresies and wrong doctrines and superstitions.
3. Science cannot provide ultimate truth and wisdom because science at best is human tentative knowledge at a given time and place.
4. Human philosophies cannot provide ultimate truth and wisdom because they are limited human thoughts confined to limited intelligence.
5. All religions except Christianity are man-made.
6. Christianity – the revealed religion – explains and exalts the Supreme Being, Wisdom and Truth.
7. Neither science nor religion can save mankind.
8. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life – outside of Christ there is no salvation.
9. The wisdom of the living is to know the Most High rules the universe and over the realm of mankind.
10. It is of infinite truth and wisdom that human beings must submit themselves humbly to the Will of God.
1. Believe in God.
Jhn 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me (Christ).”
Note: To believe in God is to put your trust in Him. To believe in God is to have faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. To believe in God means to say yes to God, and say no to the devil.
2. Turn to God.
Act 26:20, “But declared first to those in Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do deeds befitting for repentance.”
Note: To turn to God means to turn from the devil to God, from darkness to light. To turn to God is to have a change of heart.
3. Seek God.
Psa 69:32, “The humble shall see this and be glad; and you who seek God, your heart shall live.”
Note: Man was created in the image of God. Man has sinned against God. Man finds no rest until he reconciles with God. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and died on the cross so that sinners may reconcile with God. To seek God is not to seek money, power and pleasure in this world.
4. Call on God.
Psa 55:16, “As for me, I will call on God; and the Lord shall save me.”
Note: Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. To call on God is to pray to God. To call on God is to ask God for help. Christians have the right to pray for everything.
5. Fear God.
Ecc 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.”
To fear God is not to fear man. To fear God is to obey God. Liars and killers do not fear God.
Ecc 8:12, “Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged; yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.”
Note: Fear God is the beginning of wisdom The fool says in his heart there is no God.
Cf. 1 Pe 2:17.
6. Obey God.
Act 5:29, “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”
Note: There are people who fear men, and not God; who obey men, and not God. Preachers who fear power dare not preach against the sins of American leaders. To obey God is to do His commandments.
7. Yield to God.
Rom 6:13, “Do not yield members of your bodies to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but yield yourselves to God, as those who are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”
To yield to God is to submit to God. As slaves submit to his masters, so we must submit to God but willingly.
8. Pray to God.
2 Cr 13:7, “Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is praiseworthy, though we may seem to be unapproved.”
Note: Do not pray to Mary, apostles or angels, or the dead as many Chinese do.
9. Cry to God.
Psa 57:2, “I will cry to God Most High; to God who performs all things for me.”
10. Confess to God.
Rom 14:11, “For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
Note: Do not confess your sins to Catholic priests for they are as sinful as you are. Confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness in the name of Christ. Confess to God means you submit yourself to the authority and power of God as a slave submits to his master. To confess to God means you acknowledge you are a sinner who needs the salvation of God which is in Jesus Christ.
11. Please God.
1 Th 4:1, “Moreover we beg you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you should excel more and more.”
Note: If you obey the commandments of God, you please God.
12. Praise God.
Psa 150:1, “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His splendor.”
You can praise God with your mouth and song. Your heart magnifies the Lord. The best way to praise God is to acknowledge His power and glory and in obedience to Jesus Christ.
13. Sing to God.
Psa 68:4, “Sing to God, sing praises to His name; extol Him who rides through the deserts by His name JAH, and rejoice before Him.”
There was a Chinese church which used to have a singing session half an hour before the service. It was spirited and stirring praises to God. The female preacher stopped the practice on account American churches did not do that. Any preacher who models his church after the American churches falls into a pit of secularism and worldly pursuits. Many do not know America is practicing a false version of Christianity. American leaders claim to be Christians and yet they have been liars and killers since the end of World War II.
14. Magnify God.
Act 10:46, “For they heard them speaking in tongues (languages and dialects) and magnify God. Then answered Peter.”
Preachers who declare, Do you know who I am? do not magnify God. Preachers who make their church members their disciples do not magnify God. Preachers who live a luxurious lifestyle and get rich by preaching the gospel do not magnify God.
15. Thank God.
Rom 7:25, “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
Note: Christians cannot thank God enough, for God has answered our prayers countless times and it is possible to count the blessings the Lord has given to us.
16. Worship God.
Rev 19:10, “Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me; See that you do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and with your brethren who bear the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Those who worship God must worship God in truth and spirit.
17. Glorify God.
Rom 15:6, “So that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Preachers who seek fame and fortune do not glorify God, they have fallen from grace.
18. Serve God.
Hbr 12:28, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
Note: False preachers do not serve God, they preach in order to get rich. Occupational preachers do not serve God. Greedy preachers do not serve God. Preaches of prosperity gospel do not serve God, they use the gospel to get rich. Preachers who teach religion but do not preach the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ do not serve God, in fact they are the enemies of the cross in forbidding others to preach the Gospel. No church has a monopoly of the Word of God.
19. Preach the Kingdom of God.
Act 28:31, “Preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no one forbidding him.”
Those who link Christianity to the West betray the Word of God and they have no part in the Kingdom of God.
20. Bear fruit to God.
Rom 7:4, “Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ; so that you may be married to another, even to Him who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit to God.”
Note: All the good deeds that believers may do for the sake of Christ can be called bearing fruit to God. Bearing fruit to God does not mean you are holier or superior to others.
21. Love God.
Rom 8:28, “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Note: We love God because God has loved us first. To love God, you must love things above. To love the world, you do not love God. You cannot love God and Money and Power and Sex at the same time. The American way of life is the wrong way of life because American prevailing values are money, power and sex.
22. Hope in God.
Psa 78:7, “So that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”
Note: You may be the richest and most powerful person in the world, you are without God and without hope. The poorest and most helpless believers of Christ have God and have hope.
23. Trust in God.
2 Cr 1:9, “Indeed we had the sentence of death in ourselves so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.”
Note: On the United States currency is printed: IN GOD WE TRUST. It is only a meaningless slogan, for the U.S. does not even allow prayer and reading of the Bible in schools. America does not trust the God of the Bible, America worships the gods of money and power and sex. Had the U.S. trusted in God and run the country according to the Christian principles, it would not be in a dire situation now with biggest national debt of over $17 trillion and huge deficits and moral crisis.
Get right with God.
Make peace with God by repenting of your sins and believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. What must we do with God is clear, even though the list covers only a few. You will do well to do as the Scripture says. For God is Absolute, Almighty, Supreme, Ultimate, and Eternal.
