*What God Is

*The enemies of truth deleted some 600 words from this article.

Gen 1:1,“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Note: God in Hebrew is 'elohiym which means the true God, divinity attributed to Jehovah only; - it occurs about 2,606 times in the Old Testament.

God is who God is.

Mat 1:23,“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us.”

God in Greek is theos which means the Godhead, Trinity, the only and true God; - it occurs about 1,343 times in the New Testament. The word ‘theology’ is derived from the Greek word.

Christianity is neither superstition nor science. Superstition is based on false and unfounded beliefs and fears. Science is limited by human and empirical and tentative knowledge at a time and place. Christianity is the revealed religion. Only God makes revelation of the ultimate truth and wisdom. Revelation cannot be achieved by human discovery or wisdom. Christianity is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was God who became Man to reveal God and spiritual things to human beings.

1. The Church of Jesus Christ is the pillar of truth.

2. The Roman Catholic Church is historically false, full of heresies and wrong doctrines and superstitions.

3. Science cannot provide ultimate truth and wisdom because science at best is human tentative knowledge at a given time and place.

4. Human philosophies cannot provide ultimate truth and wisdom because they are limited human thoughts confined to limited intelligence.

5. All religions except Christianity are man-made.

6. Christianity – the revealed religion – explains and exalts the Supreme Being, Wisdom and Truth.

7. Neither science nor religion can save mankind.

8. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life – outside of Christ there is no salvation.

9. The wisdom of the living is to know the Most High rules the universe and over the realm of mankind.

10. It is of infinite truth and wisdom that human beings must submit themselves humbly to the Will of God.

Due to limited human intelligence and poor understanding and linguistic inadequacies, it is difficult to pose such an inquiry. If we ask: Who is God? As if God was a man or a person. God is not a man. If we ask: What is God? As if God was a thing. God is not a thing. God is neither a man nor a thing. A few thousand years ago, Moses encountered such a dilemma.

Exd 3:13-15,“Then Moses said to God: Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you. Now they may say to me: What is His name? What shall I say to them? God said to Moses

I AM WHO I AM; and He said: Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. God, furthermore, said to Moses: Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.” I do not know anyone who fully understands the meaning of I AM WHO I AM. It seems to say God is Self-Existent in eternal past and God is in eternal present and God is in eternal future. GOD IS WHO HE IS. This does not mean God is a male. By the same token it is wrong for feminists to portray God as she or mother. I am convinced as attested by the Scriptures, the I AM WHO I AM of the Old Testament is the I AM of the New Testament.

Jhn 8:58,“Jesus said to them: Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Please read my article, Jesus Christ – the Great “I AM”. Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New Testament. Human intelligence fails to grasp its full meanings. If we raise the question: Who is God? The answer would be natural: God is the Lord of heavens and earth.

Dan 5:21He (Nebuchadnezzar) was also driven away from mankind, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his dwelling place was with the wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until he recognized that the Most High God is Ruler over the realm of mankind and that He sets over it whomever He wishes. The Most High God is Ruler over the realm of mankind. The Scripture also says: God is light. Then the answer does not seem natural to the question Who is God? Thus God is the mystery of all mysteries, all the answers of who is God and what is God are not sufficient to define God. God is unfathomable, indefinable, indescribable, and inscrutable. For God has many names and titles. Each name and title of God uniquely reflects His attribute or nature.

It is of utmost importance to know what God is or who God is, since God is the Creator of the universe and humankind. Misconceptions of God have produced many false religions and beliefs that lead to destruction. To know God you must listen to His word. The Bible is the Word of God.

1. God is Light.

1Jo 1:5,“This is the message which we have heard from Him (Christ) and declare to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”

Note: Light in Greek is phōs which means an appellation of God, i.e. by nature holy, pure and brilliant; truth and its knowledge, together with the spiritual purity associated with it; - it occurs about 70 times in the New Testament.

Jhn 8:12,“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying: I AM the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." – The word “light” is the same original word used in 1Jo 1:5. Just as God is Light, so Jesus is the Light of the world. The Light applies to God and Jesus equally and the same. All other gods are darkness; all other faiths are groping in darkness. The same word is used in Jhn 1:4-5,“In Him (Christ) was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” The same word is used in Jhn 1:9,“There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.” Jesus Christ is the true Light that enlightens every man, every believer. Do you want to be enlightened by the true Light? The same word is used in Jhn 12:36,“While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light. These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them.”

If you believe in the Light (Jesus), you may become sons of Light. The same word is used in Jhn 12:46,“I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.” Everyone who believes in Jesus will not remain in darkness. Wall Street bankers and executives and Washington corrupt politicians who defrauded trillions of dollars claim to be Christians, but they remain in darkness, and so they do not really believe in Jesus. The same word is used in 2Cr 4:4,“In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” Christ is the image of God, but the minds of the unbelieving (including scientists and scholars) have been blinded by the god of this world (devil) so that they might not see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ. The word is also used in 2Cr 4:6,“For God, who said: Light shall shine out of darkness, is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” Those who have put their trust in Jesus the Lord and Savior, God has shone in their hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

2. God is Love.

1Jo 4:8,“He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.”

Note: Love in Greek is agapē which means affection, good will, benevolence, compassion, charity whether it is viewed in the soul or as expressed; of the love of God toward men; - it occurs about 116 times in the New Testament. The same original word is used in Rom 5:8,“But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Not only God is love, God shows His love for us when Jesus Christ died on the cross for sinners. The original word is used in Rom 5:5,“And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” The same word is used Rom 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus Christ died on the cross for sinners was a demonstration of God’s love toward us. The same word is used in Rom 8:39,“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The love of God is in Christ Jesus our Lord; those who reject Christ do not have the love of God. The same word is used in Eph 2:4-7,“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” The love of God brought believers salvation, honor and glory in Christ Jesus. The word is also used in Tts 3:4-7,“But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” The Scriptures cited above tell us how the love of God appeared in our Savior who saved us by His mercy, through the washing and renewing of the Holy Spirit, justified us by His grace to become heirs of the hope of eternal life. The trine God works together to save mankind.

A Chinese Christian hymn book says, “God is love. Love is God.” “God is love” is true. “Love is God” is pagan, pantheistic and un-Scriptural. There are people who worship the goddess of love. Christians worship only the true living God, not anyone or anything else...

3. God is Holy.

Psa 99:9,“Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.”

Note: Holy in Hebrew is qadowsh  which means sacred, set apart, attributing to God as abhorring every kind of impurity (both physical and moral); - it occurs 116 times in the Old Testament. It is the same original word used in

Lev 11:45,“For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” Holiness is the basic nature of God. Sinful man cannot approach God. However, God provides the way; the way to God is through Jesus Christ who died for the sin of the world. By shedding of Jesus’precious blood on the cross once for all, the way to God is open to all believers.

Jhn 17:11,“Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”

Note: Holy in Greek is hagios  which means most holy one, properly reverend, worthy of veneration, the inviolable character of God, everlasting sanctity, absolutely separate from evil, the sum total of all virtue; - it occurs about 229 times in the New Testament. The same word is used in Act 1:8,“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” – referring to the Holy Spirit. The same word is used in Rom 1:2,“Which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures.” – referring to the Holy Scriptures. The same word is used in 2 Ti 1:9, “He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.” – referring to the holy calling. The same word is used in 1Jo 2:20,“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.” – referring to the Holy One who is Jesus Christ. The same word is used in Jud 1:20,“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” – referring to the holy faith. The same word is also used in Rev 21:2,“And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.” – referring to the holy city, the New Jerusalem.

God is holy and that is His nature. The image of God is reflected by His holiness, righteousness, and goodness. God is holy because He is sinless. God is righteous and He cannot do wrong. God is good and the devil is evil. No one is good enough to go to heaven.

God is not man. God is the Spirit who does not have a body. God manifested Himself some 2,000 years ago in the body of Jesus Christ. God does not need a bath because the Eternal God is holy and undefiled. Only dirty humans and animals need to take a bath. Some person who does not know God wrote, “Scientists uncover ‘God’s bathtub.” Scientists by human efforts and scientific tools cannot discover anything about God. Of course, by the creation one can know something about the Creator. You do not need to be a scientist to uncover God’s wisdom, power and glory manifested in the universe.

Rev 4:8,“And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say: HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.”

4. God is Spirit.

Jhn 4:24,“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

Note: Spirit in Greek is pneuma which means the life giving spirit, the spiritual and divine nature of God; - it occurs about 385 times in the New Testament. All pagan gods or idols are made of gold, silver, copper, stone, wood, etc. that have images of humans, animals, birds, etc. God is Spirit which is invisible. God became Man visible as Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The same word is used in Jhn 6:63,“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” Maybe we may not understand, but we must believe the words that Jesus has spoken are spirit and are life. The same word is used in Jhn 14:17,“That is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” The Spirit of truth abides with all born again Christians and is in them. The same word is used in Jhn 16:13, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” The Spirit of truth revealed to the apostles things to come which are all written in the New Testament. The revelation of Jesus Christ is completed; there cannot be any prophecy contrary to what is already revealed. The same word is used in Act 1:8,“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” The Holy Spirit is the power from above. The power of the Holy Spirit is used to witness for Christ, not to speak in tongues. The same word is also used in Rom 8:9,“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.” The only proof that you are saved, you are a child of God, is that the Spirit of Christ lives in you. You will know if the Spirit of Christ lives in you because He will bear witness with your spirit. Rom 8:16-17,“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

Note: The Bible says God is Spirit. The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ. Since God is Spirit, God is invisible. It is a great sin to make God in the image of man or animal. The God of the Bible, the Creator and Lord of the universe, is the Spirit. The living God does not have His bones or fingers, etc. buried in the earth to be discovered by man. Jesus Christ rose from the dead by the power of God, His resurrected body was spiritual and glorious and eternal.

Luk 24:39, “See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

The God Christians worship is not a god of flesh and bones, but the immortal and eternal God.

5. God is True.

Jer 10:10,“But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure His indignation.”

Note: True in Hebrew is 'emeth which means in truth, as opposed to falsehood; constant and perpetual; faithful; - it occurs about 127 times in the Old Testament. On March 11, 2011 a mega earthquake of 9.0- magnitude struck Japan. If I understand the Scripture cited correctly, God was angry with Japan, at His wrath the earth quakes. Earthquakes may display God’s wrath, it does not mean every earthquake is a display of God’s wrath. For the Scripture also says, Isa 64:3,“When You did awesome things which we did not expect, You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.” The mountains quake at God’s presence. The empire of Japan has done so much evil and never repented. The same word is used in Zec 7:9,“Thus has the LORD of hosts said: Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother.” Japan has not practiced true justice to those who suffered under Japanese genocide, atrocities and brutalities, and those Japanese military made sex and labor slaves, etc.

Jhn 3:33,“He (Christ) who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.”

Note: True in Greek is alēthēs which means speaking the truth, truthful, which can be trusted; - it occurs about 25 times in the New Testament. The same original word is used in Jhn 7:18,“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Christ is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. The same word is used in Rom 3:4, “Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: That You may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged.” God is true, every man a liar. Truth is offensive, God is true, every man is a liar. The same word is used in 1Pe 5:12,“Through Silvanus, our faithful brother (for so I regard him), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!” The true grace of God is that God has called sinners to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ in order to receive His eternal glory. Christians are to stand firm in the true grace of God. The same word is used in 1Jo 2:27,“As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.” Everything that Jesus teaches or says is true and is not a lie. God is true.

6. God is One.

Gal 3:20,“Now a mediator is not a mediator for one only, but God is One.”

Note: One in Greek is heis which means one and only, one and the same; - it occurs about 272 times in the New Testament. God is One means God is monotheistic. God is singularly divine. No one is like God. The same original word is used in Mar 12:29,“Jesus answered: The foremost is, HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD.” The same word is used in Rom 5:17, “For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Jesus Christ is the One who gives the gift of righteousness. The same word is used in

Rom 5:19,“For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.” Through the obedience of the One Jesus believers are made righteous. The same word is used in Rom 8:33,“Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies.” God is the One who justifies believers in Christ. The same word is used in 1Cr 3:11,“For no man can lay a foundation other than the One which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” The foundation of the church is Jesus Christ. The same word is used in 1Cr 8:6,“Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.” There is but one God  the Father, and one Lord, Jesus Christ. Christians exist for God and exist through Jesus Christ. The same word is used in 1Cr 12:13,“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.” The Bible teaches One God, One Lord, and One Spirit. The same word is used in Eph 4:5, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism.” Jesus Christ says, Jhn 5:44,“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?” According to Jesus, God is the One and Only. The same word is used in 1Ti 2:5,“For there is one God, and one Mediator also between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” Jesus Christ is the one Mediator between God and men. The same word is also used in 1Jo 2:20,“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.” Jesus Christ is the Holy One.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are One God. There are not three Gods. God is the greatest mystery, too wonderful for human mind to comprehend or understand. As an illustration of the Trinity, although it is a poor illustration, the sun is represented as the One God: you can see the round body of the sun as the Father, you see the light as Jesus Christ, you can feel the heat as the Holy Spirit.

7. God is One Lord.

Mar 12:29,“Jesus answered him: The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.”

Note: Lord in Greek is kyrios which means one who has control of the universe and everything, this title is given to: God, the Messiah; - it occurs about 748 times in the New Testament. The Lord is One, there is no other Lord. God is One, and there is no other God. Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are One. Christianity is one faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The original word is used in Mat 7:21,“Not everyone who says to Me: ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” The same word is used in Mat 11:25, “At that time Jesus answered and said: I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.” God is Lord of heaven and earth. The same word is used in Rom 8:39,“Nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The love of God is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The same word is used in

1Cr 1:7,“So that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Christians are waiting for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The word is use in 1 Cr 2:8,  “Which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Jesus Christ is the Lord of glory. The same word is used in 1Cr 8:6,“Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” There is one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. The same word is used in 2Cr 13:14,“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”

God in saving mankind demonstrated the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit. The one Lord works in unison and unity – the Holy Trinity. The same word is used in

Eph 3:11,According to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” God accomplished His eternal purpose in Christ Jesus our Lord. No matter how good you think you are, be it Gandhi or any human being, outside of Christ Jesus there is no salvation. No one is acceptable to God on his own merit or goodness. The same word is used in

Phl 2:11,“And that every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Every tongue, even that of Gandhi or Tolstoy, must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The same word is used in Phl 3:20,  “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Christians eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, not anyone else, from heaven. The word is also used in Rev 1:8,“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. There is no dispute Jesus Christ is the Lord, the Almighty God.

Nah 1:2,“A jealous and avenging God is the LORD; The LORD is avenging and wrathful. The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies.”

Note: Lord in Hebrew is Yĕhovah which means the existing One, the proper name of the one true God; - it occurs about 6,519 times in the Old Testament. The same word is used in Gen 2:4,“This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heavens.” The Lord made the heavens and the earth. The original word is used in Gen 2:7,“Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” The Lord God not only made the heavens (universe) and the earth, He also created man of dust from the ground. The same word is used in Exd 12:12,“For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the LORD.” Just as God executed judgments against Egypt and all the gods of Egypt before, the Lord will execute judgments soon against the ungodly nations and evildoers of this world. The same word is used in Psa 145:20, “The LORD keeps all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.” The same word is used in Pro 16:4,“The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil.” The Lord controls everything that comes to pass; there is nothing that can thwart His purpose. The same word is used in Isa 55:8-9,“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” As the heavens are higher than the earth, so the Lord’s ways are higher than human ways, and the Lord’s thoughts than human thoughts. The word is also used in Isa 64:8,“But now, O LORD, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand.” The Lord is our potter, we are the clay.

Note: The title ‘Lord’can be used only for Jehovah of the Old Testament and Jesus of the New Testament. The Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New Testament.

8. God is Merciful.

Psa 86:15,“But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.”

Note: Merciful in Hebrew is rachuwm which means compassionate, merciful only used of God; - it occurs about 13 times in the Old Testament. The same word is used in 2Ch 30:9,“For if you return to the LORD, your brothers and your sons will find compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.” If you return to God, God will not turn His face away from you.

The same word is used in Neh 9:31,“Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or forsake them, for You are a gracious and merciful God.” The same word is used in Psa 111:4,“He has made His wonders to be remembered; The LORD is gracious and merciful.” The same word is also used in Psa 112:4,“Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and merciful and righteous.” God is gracious and merciful and righteous.

Luk 6:36,“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

Note: Merciful in Greek is oiktirmōn which means of tender mercy which occurs only 3 times in the New Testament. The same original word is used in Jam 5:11,“We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.”

9.   The awesome God.

Deu 10:17,“For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.”

Note: Awesome in Hebrew is yare' which means to be fearful, be dreadful, be feared; - it occurs about 314 times in the Old Testament. The same original word is used in Deu 7:21,“You shall not dread them, for the LORD your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God.” If the great and awesome God is with you, you shall not dread people. The same word is used in Job 37:22,“Out of the north comes golden splendor; around God is awesome majesty.” Someday, children of God will see the golden splendor and awesome majesty of God. The same word is used in

Psa 66:3,“Say to God: How awesome are Your works! Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You.” The creation of God is awesome, just look at the stars with telescope or look at cells with microscope. The works of God in history are also awesome. The same word is used in Psa 111:9,“He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name.” Because God is awesome, so His name is also awesome. The same word is used in Psa 145:6,“Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness.” The acts of God written in the Bible are awesome. The same word is used in Dan 9:4,“I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed and said: Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments.” The great and awesome God keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments. The same word is also used in Joe 2:31,“The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.” The Day of Judgment is the great and awesome day of the Lord.

10.  God is Able.

Dan 4:37,“Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.”

Note: Able in Aramaic is yĕkel which means to be powerful, can; - it occurs about 12 times in the Old Testament. The original word is also used in Dan 6:20, “When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel: Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Yes, God is always able to deliver His children.

Mat 3:9,“Do not think to say to yourselves, We have Abraham as our father. For I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.”

Note: Able in Greek is dynamai which means to be capable, strong and powerful; to be able to do something; - it occurs about 210 times in the New Testament. The original word is used in Mat 9:28,“When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them: Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him: Yes, Lord.” Yes, the Lord is able to do anything. The same word is used in  Mat 10:28,“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” God is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. The suffering in hell is not only the soul, but soul and body of unbelievers and evildoers. They feel the torment like dying but they are not dead. The same word is used in Luk 3:8, “Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves: We have Abraham for our father, for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham.” God is able to raise up children to Abraham from stones. The same word is used in Act 20:32,“And now I commend you to God and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” The Word of His grace is able to build us up and to give us the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. The same word is used in Rom 4:21,“And being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.” What God had promised, He was able also to perform. The same word is used in 2Cr 9:8,“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” God is able to make all grace abound to us. The same word is used in Hbr 7:25, “Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” The Lord and Savior is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him. The same word is also used in Jud 1:24,“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy.” The Lord is able to keep us from stumbling, and to make us stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy. To God everything is possible, nothing is impossible with God.

11.  God is Faithful.

Deu 7:9,“Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

Note: Faithful in Hebrew is 'aman  which means reliable, unshaken, trustworthy, sure; - it occurs about 108 times in the Old Testament. The original word is used in Isa 49:7,“Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One, to the despised One, to the One abhorred by the nation, to the Servant of rulers, Kings will see and arise, Princes will also bow down, because of the LORD who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

1Cr 1:9,“God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Note: Faithful in Greek is pistos which means worthy of trust, trustworthy, that can be relied on; - it occurs about 67 times in the New Testament. The original word is used in 1Cr 10:13,“No temptation has overtaken you except that which is common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted above what you are able; but with the temptation will also make a way of escape so that you may be able to bear it.” God is faithful, and He will not let His children be tempted above what they are able. The same word is used in 2Cr 1:18,“But as God is faithful, our word to you is not yes and no.” The same word is used in 1Th 5:24,“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” God is faithful and will bring to pass what He promises. The same word is used in 2Th 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” The Lord will strengthen and protect Christians from the evil one because He is faithful. The same word is used in 1Pe 4:19, “Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.” Those who suffer must entrust their souls to the faithful Creator. The same word is used in  1Jo 1:9,“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” If we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us. The same word is used in Rev 19:11,“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.” Jesus Christ is Faithful and True. The same word is also used in Rev 22:6,“And he said to me: These words are faithful and true; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show His servants the things which must soon take place.” The words of God are faithful and true.

Note: God is faithful means God is trustworthy. You can trust God.

12.  God is Jealous.

Exd 20:5,“You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.”

Note: Jealous in Hebrew is qanna' which is used of God as not bearing any rival; - it occurs only 6 times in the Old Testament. The same word is used in  Exd 34:14,“For you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a Jealous God.” The Lord is a Jealous God because He does not tolerate any other god. The same word is used in Deu 4:24, “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a Jealous God.” The same word is used in Deu 5:9,“You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a Jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me.” The same word is also used in Deu 6:15,“For the LORD your God in the midst of you is a Jealous God; otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.” The day is coming when God will wipe the wicked and evildoers off the face of the earth.

13.  God is compassionate.

Deu 4:31,“For the LORD your God is a Compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.”

Note: Compassionate in Hebrew is rachuwm which means merciful; it occurs 13 times in the Old Testament. The original word is used in 2Ch 30:9,“For if you return to the LORD, your brothers and your sons will find compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.” If you return to God, God will not turn His face from you. The same word is used in Neh 9:17,“They refused to listen, and did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them; so they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But You are a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness; and You did not forsake them.” The greatest sin man committed is to refuse to listen to God. The same word is used in Neh 9:31,“Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or forsake them, for You are a gracious and compassionate God.” God can easily make an end of anyone just much easier than we can make an end of an ant. Let the crooks and criminals of Wall Street, Washington, and Hollywood and health-care and terrorists beware. The same word is used in Psa 103:8,“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.” The same word is used in

Psa 111:4,“He has made His wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.” The same word is also used in Psa 112:4,“Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous.” Because God is gracious and compassionate and righteous so light arises in the darkness for the upright. It is a comfort to know that the gracious and compassionate God gives light in the darkness for the upright, but the wicked will fall and perish in darkness.

Jam 5:11,“We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.”

Note: Full of compassion in Greek is polysplagchnos which means full of pity, very kind, very pitiful; - it occurs only once in the New Testament. Most Christians may not know: those who endure are blessed.

14. God is the Judge.

Gen 18:25,“Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?”

Note: Judge in Hebrew is shaphat which means ruler who punishes the guilty, one who executes judgment; - it occurs about 203 times in the Old Testament. Yes, God is the Judge of all the earth, and the Judge deals justly. The original word is used in Deu 25:2,“Then it shall be if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of stripes according to his guilt.” The criminal justice system of the West fails because it tries to make the wicked comfortable in prison. The wicked deserves to be beaten or caned.

The same word is used in Psa 75:7,“But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.” The Judge puts down the wicked and exalts the righteous. In an evil legal system, the judge enriches crooks and criminals at public expense. In a flawed criminal justice, the rich and powerful get acquitted; the innocent suffers injustice. The same word is used in Eze 7:3,“Now the end is upon you, and I will send My anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways and bring all your abominations upon you.” The same word is used in Eze 18:30,“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each according to his conduct, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you.” Iniquity will become a stumbling block to the wicked. God will judge according to the conduct of man. The word is also used in Eze 24:14,“I, the LORD, have spoken; it is coming and I will act. I will not relent, and I will not pity and I will not be sorry; according to your ways and according to your deeds I will judge you, declares the Lord GOD." God will judge according to the ways and deeds of peoples and nations, America is no exception.

Jhn 3:17,“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

Note: To judge in Greek is krinō which means to pronounce an opinion concerning right and wrong, pronounce judgment; - it occurs about 114 times in the New Testament. The first coming of Jesus Christ was to save the world; the second coming of Christ is to judge the world. If you want to be saved, now is the time of grace. The original word is used in Jhn 12:47,“If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.” The same word is used in Jhn 12:48,“He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.” The last day is the Judgment Day.

Act 10:42,“And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.”

Note: Judge in Greek is kritēs which means one who passes judgment on anything, of God passing judgment on men; - it occurs about 17 times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ was appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. The living means when Jesus Christ returns those who are still living. The dead means those who were dead when Christ returns but will be raised to be judged. The same word is used in Hbr 12:23,“To the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect.” God is the Judge of all. The original word is also used in Jam 5:9,“Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.”

Note: Complain in Greek is stenazō which means to hold grudge against, sigh, groan; - it occurs only 6 times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the Judge who is standing right at the door means He is coming soon. No one can escape the judgment of God. The Judgment Day is at hand.

15.  God is a Consuming Fire.

Deu 4:24,“For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”

Note: Consuming in Hebrew is 'akal which means devouring, destroying; - it occurs 810 times in the Old Testament. How is God a consuming fire?

Deu 6:15,“For the LORD your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.” Figuratively speaking, God’s anger is like fire which can be kindled to wipe evildoers off the face of the earth. The original word is used in Isa 30:27,“Behold, the name of the LORD comes from a remote place; burning is His anger and dense is His smoke; His lips are filled with indignation and His tongue is like a consuming fire.” This is another description of consuming fire respecting the appearance of the glory of God. The same word is also used in Exd 24:17,“And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the mountain top.”

Hbr 12:29,“For our God is a Consuming Fire.”

Note: In Greek consuming is katanaliskō which is used only once in the New Testament. Fire in Greek is pyr which occurs 74 times in the New Testament. The words “pyrophobia”, “pyrotechnics” are derived from the Greek word. God is called a consuming fire as one who when angry visits the children of darkness with penal destruction. The original word is used in Mat 25:41,“Then He will also say to those on His left: Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.” Hell is defined as the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Jesus gives hell a brief description, Mar 9:46, “Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” Jesus warns of homosexuals and those who practice same-sex marriage, Luk 17:29, “But on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.” Jud 1:7,“As Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” There are false prophets and false teachers who falsely insist the all-loving God could not prepare a hell. Another Scripture supports hell fire, 2Th 1:8,“In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The same word is used in 2Pe 3:7,“But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” Perdition or destruction is the final end of ungodly people. Finally, the end of the evil trinity;

Rev 20:10,“The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Another name for hell is the lake of fire and brimstone. God is a Consuming Fire, but fire is not God. There are primitive and superstitious people who worship fire god. The Christian God is the God of all gods. To believe in a fire god would be pantheism. Pantheism is un-Scriptural.

16.  God is No Respecter of Persons.

Act 10:34,“Then Peter opened his mouth and said: In truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”

Note: Respecter of persons in Greek is prosōpolēmptēs which means an acceptor of persons, one who discriminates; - it occurs only once in the New Testament. People respect the rich and powerful, but God accepts the poor and humble. There are many highly respected people in society (government and business) who are actually big crooks and criminals, and there are people who are Who’s Who In the World are actually whom God despises. 2Sa 22:28,“You will save the humble people; but Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.” How haughty are the elected and appointed officials, doctors and hospital owners, Wall Street executives and bankers, lawyers, white supremacists, terrorists, the rich and powerful, etc. – God will bring them down is a matter of time. Psa 18:27,“For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks.”

1Ti 6:17,“Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.” Believers must turn away from the following people:

2Ti 3:2-5,“For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” Many of Wall Street, Washington, and Hollywood are represented in this group of people cited above.

Mr. Ma, the Taiwanese leader, claimes to be a Christian, and yet he publicly worships idols. No one, there is no exception, can claim to be a Christian and worships idols at the same time. For idolatry is a grave sin against the living God. If he is a true Christian, he must repent and abandon idols. If he wants to worship idols, then he cannot claim to be a Christian. Mr. Ma must come clean one way or another. God is no respecter of persons, president or prostitute.

17.  God is Not the Author of Confusion.

1Cr 14:33,“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

Note: Confusion in Greek is akatastasia which means instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, tumult; - it occurs only 5 times in the New Testament. The original word is also used in Jam 3:16,“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” The great economic and financial crisis created in America in 2008 was created by self-seeking and greedy and fraudulent Wall Street bankers and executives with support from corrupt leaders and legislators and self-serving bureaucrats. It is sad that in the mega earthquake of 9.0-magnitude, Japanese government and power company even lied and misled its own people as well as the world. The confusion and division displayed in many churches are not originated from God, but the deceiver. The Word of God is clear, only agents of the devil try to confuse and mislead the people. For example, no one is good enough to save himself. Diabolical doctrine teaches you need good deeds to be saved. The Bible teaches you are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. After being saved, your good deeds will be rewarded in heaven. It is true, the United States is the Author of conflict, the Author of division, the Author of war, the Author of destruction after World War II.

18.  God is Not Unjust.

Hbr 6:10,“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

Note: Unjust in Greek is adikos which means unrighteous, of one who deals fraudulently with others, deceitful; - it occurs about 12 times in the New Testament. Not only God is not unjust, God is just. 2Th 1:6-7,“For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire.” Just in Greek is dikaios which means upright, righteous, virtuous; - it occurs about 81 times in the New Testament. The original word is used in Act 3:24, “But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.” Jesus Christ is the Holy One and Just. The same word is used in Act 22:14, “Then he said: The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.” God had chosen Paul to know His will, and see Jesus the Just One and hear His voice. The same word is also used in

Rom 3:24-26,“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” God is just and the Justifier of anyone who has faith in Jesus who redeems us freely by His grace through His blood as a propitiation. God had passed over the sins of believers just as the angel of death had passed over the houses of the children of Israel marked with blood. See Exd Chapter 12. Justice is the basic nature of God, the noblest virtue of man.

19.  The only True God.

Jhn 17:3,“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

Note: Only in Greek is monos which means alone, no other, by oneself, applied to one person alone; - it occurs about 47 times in the New Testament. God is One, God is exclusive because there is no other. Only God can forgive sins. The same original word is used in Jhn 5:44,“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?” The same word is used in Rom 16:27,“To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen.” God is the only wise God. The same word is used in 1Ti 1:17,“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” The only God is the King eternal, immortal and invisible. The same word is used in 1Ti 6:15,“Which He will bring about at the proper time -- He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.” Jesus Christ is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. The same word is used in

Jud 1:4,“For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Jesus Christ is our only Master and Lord. The same word is also used in Jud 1:25,“To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” Jesus Christ is the only God our Savior. True in Greek is alēthinos which means real, veracious, sincere, opposite to what is false; - it occurs about 27 times in the New Testament. The same original word is used in Jhn 1:9,“There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.” Jesus Christ is the true Light that enlightens every believer. The same word is used in 1Th 1:9,“For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.” The God of the Bible is the living and true God. The same word is also used in 1Jo 5:20,“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” If you know Him who is true, you are in Him who is true. Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life.

20.  The eternal God.

Rom 16:26,“But now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith.”

Note: Eternal in Greek is aiōnios which means everlasting, without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be, never to cease; - it occurs about 71 times in the New Testament. The eternal God has commanded all the nations to the obedience of faith in Jesus Christ. The same original word is used in

Mat 25:46,“These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” There are only two destinies: the wicked and unbelievers go into eternal punishment; the righteous into eternal life. The same word is used in Mar 3:29,“But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.” Denial and rejection of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of the world is an eternal sin that never has forgiveness. The same word is used in Jhn 5:24,“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” Those who believe in Jesus Christ have eternal life, and have passed out of death into life. The same word is used in

Rom 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The same word is used in 1Ti 6:16,“Who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.” The eternal God has eternal dominion. The same word is used in 2Ti 2:10,“For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.” Jesus Christ gives salvation (eternal redemption) with eternal glory to His followers. The same word is used in 1Jo 5:11,“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” Eternal life is in the Son of God. The same word is also used in Hbr 9:15,“For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Those who have been called and saved will receive the eternal inheritance of the Paradise of God, the new heaven and new earth, and the New Jerusalem – the Holy City.

21.  God is great.

Job 36:26,“Behold, God is great, and we know Him not, neither can the number of His years be searched out.”

Note: Great in Hebrew is saggiy' which means excellent, great of God; - it occurs only twice in the Old Testament. The same original word is used in Job 37:23,“As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is great in power, in judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress.” God is great in power, in judgment and justice. God is greater than the universe because God is the Creator of the universe.

1Ti 3:16,“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.”

Note: Great in Greek is megas which means excellent, splendid, grand, stately, preeminent, majestic; - it occurs about 195 times in the New Testament. Mystery in Greek is mystērion which means a hidden or secret thing, something not obvious to the understanding; - it occurs about 27 times in the New Testament. God’s plan of providing salvation for men through Jesus Christ was hidden in ages past but now revealed. The original word is used in Eph 5:32,“This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.” The same word is used in Tts 2:13, “Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” Christ Jesus is our great God and Savior – this is the central message of the New Testament. The same word is used in Hbr 13:20-21,“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” The Lord Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep, Christians are His sheep. The same word is used in

Rev 11:17“Saying: We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.” Lord God the Almighty will reign with great power. The same word is also used in Rev 15:3,“And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!” Jesus Christ is King of the nations. The eternal God is the highest, the supreme, the Ruler of the universe.

Are you ready for the second coming of the King of the nations, the King of kings and Lord of lords?
