*BLESSING

*The enemies of truth deleted some 1,000 words from this article.

The word “blessed” occurs 308 times in the New American Standard Bible (NASB); but it does not differentiate between “blessed” as a verb in past tense or as an adjective in the passive voice. For example, “God blessed Noah,” and “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD” – the word is used to mean differently respectively.

The word “bless” occurs 133 times both in the Revised Standard Version (RSV) and in the New King James Version (NKJV). For example, “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you.” It is used as a verb.

The word “blesses” occurs 11 times in the New American Standard Bible (NASB). For example, “God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.” It is used as a verb by the third person.

The word “blessing” occurs 73 times in the New American Standard Bible (NASB). But it does not differentiate between the word used as a verb in a continuous tense whether past or present, for example “While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.” and used as a noun, for example, “I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.”

The word “blessings” occurs 24 times in the New International Version (NIV). For example, “Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.”

Gen 49:28,“All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.”

Note: The Scripture cited is the general principle how a person is blessed. Everyone is blessed with the blessing appropriate to him. It is not appropriate to bless the wicked and the greedy and the warmongers in the world.

The greatest blessing a human being can receive is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and to receive the eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I.     God Blessed Some People.

Hbr 7:7,“But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.”

Gen 48:9,“And Joseph said to his father: They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place. And he said: Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”

Note: The principle of blessing is clear: The lesser is blessed by the greater. Once I met a blind man in a church, he had a bad habit of saying “God bless you” whenever someone does something kind to him, instead of saying thank you. An unimportant man cannot bless an important man. For example, I am not in a position to bless Abraham or Paul. God blesses His children; what does it mean to bless God? The word has a different meaning. To bless God means to praise God. Children of God praise God is to bless God.

1.   God blessed Adam and Eve.

Gen 1:22,“God blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

Gen 1:28,“God blessed them; and God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Gen 5:2,“He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created.”

Note: Bless in Hebrew is barak which means to bestow divine favor, cause to prosper, make happy, gladden; - it occurs 330 times in the Old Testament. When there were only two persons (a couple) on the earth, it was imperative to be fruitful and multiply. Today the world is overpopulated with a little more than 7 billion (in 2012), and too many peoples become a burden and a curse. The earth cannot sustain the numbers of people on it. Developed nations consume and waste most of the natural resources in the world. For example, Indian leaders want to make India a great power by spending billions in acquiring military gear but Indians do not have enough water, and in summer many die of heat because they do not have air conditioning. The leaders of rat and rogue nation like Philippines want to be a military power and wasted much money in buying warships and weapons in order to seize the natural resources of the South China Sea, and yet many Philippinos do not even have food to eat and live in abject poverty. The Roman Catholic Church forbids birth control because they count members by birth. The more births, the more members. Birth control is not the same as abortion. Abortion for the sake of sexual immorality is wrong. To prevent abortion one must stop adultery and sexual immorality. Women should not have sex with men who do not want to support children they produce. If you cannot support children, you should not bring children to the world of poverty and misery.

Let us face the truth; you cannot be a Christian and an evolutionist at the same time. The Bible speaks clearly that mankind was a direct creation of God, not by evolutionary process. An American president claimed to be a born-again Christian and yet he embraced evolution in order to be scientifically respectable. If creation is true, evolution must be false. If evolution is true, creation must be false. There is no proof that through billions of years a lower species evolved and climbed to be a higher species and finally became a man. Evolution is the greatest scientific myth. Unbelieving scientists are so sure of things they never saw or heard billions and billions years ago when they were not there and yet they do not even know when they are going to die. I have more confidence in my Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose from the dead and lives forever who affirmed God in the beginning created man and woman than all mortal scientists put together.

Mar 10:6,“But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE.”

Note: Jesus Christ validated the truth of creation as written in the Book of Genesis. Creation in Hebrew is ktisis which means the act of creating, founding, establishing, building, etc., - it occurs 19 times in the Old Testament. Make in Hebrew is poieō  which means to produce, construct, form, fashion, etc., make a thing out of something; - it occurs 579 times in the New Testament. God made Adam and Eve was a historical fact. Why would you not believe in the Creator of the universe the everlasting God and believe in mortal and fallible scientists who do not even know when they are going to die?

2.   God blessed Noah and his sons.

Gen 9:1,“And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.”

Note: Noah was a righteous preacher who built the Ark and warned the people of the Flood to come that destroyed the world. After the Flood, God also told Noah and his sons to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

Unlike today the world is overpopulated, after the Flood, God wanted Noah and his sons to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

3.   God blessed Abraham.

Gen 12:2-3,“And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Note: The Scripture cited above was a promise of God to Abraham. God will bless those who bless Abraham. For this reason, I am on the side of the Jews, the children of Abraham. God will curse the one who curses Abraham. Interestingly, in Hebrew there are two “curse” words used. The former is qalal which means to make despicable, treat with contempt, bring contempt or dishonor, despise; - it occurs 82 times in the Old Testament. The latter curse word is 'arar which means to lay under a curse, put a curse on, to be made a bitter curse, detest, abhor; - it occurs 63 times in the Old Testament. 'arar is a stronger curse than qalal. It is like God is saying to Abraham: The one who curses you a little, I will curse him a lot. The God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, is backing Abraham. Why?

Gen 12:3,“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Gen 22:17-18,“Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Note: Abraham set an example: Trust and obey God is the way to be blessed.

Gen 26:3,“Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.”

Gen 26:24,“And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said: I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham's sake.”

Gen 28:4,“May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, that you may possess the land of your sojournings, which God gave to Abraham.”

Gen 24:1,“Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in every way.”

Note: Some are blessed by the Lord in good health, some in family, some in intelligence, some in career, some in academic achievement, some in materials, some in knowledge and wisdom, etc. – not everyone is blessed by the Lord in every way. Some have great body but small mind. Some have great mind but short body, etc. Spiritual blessings are superior to material or physical blessings.

Gen 24:35,“The LORD has greatly blessed my master, so that he has become rich; and He has given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and servants and maids, and camels and donkeys.”

Note: It is interesting about how people in ancient times viewed wealth. Silver and gold are still considered items of value. Flocks and herds are still products of value. Servants and maids may be viewed as assets and liabilities depending on the situation. Camels and donkeys are instruments of transportation, equivalent to cars and trucks today.

Gen 18:18-19,“Since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”

Gen 24:1,“Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in every way.”

Note: In every way means in all things, everything, the whole thing. There is probably no one has been blessed so much by God as Abraham was. No wonder Abraham is the father of all who believe.

Rom 4:11,“And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them.”

Rom 4:16,“For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.”

Gal 3:8,“The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying: ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.”

Isa 51:2,“Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; when he was but one I called him, then I blessed him and multiplied him.”

Act 3:25,“It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham: AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.”

Gal 3:8,“The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying: ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.”

Gen 12:2,“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.”

Gal 3:9,“So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.”

Note: Abraham received all the blessings because he believed in God.

4.   God blessed Sarah.

Gen 17:16,“And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

Hbr 11:11,“By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.”

1Pe 3:6,“Just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.”

Note: Sarah was blessed by God to be a mother of nations. Read the article MOTHER. Normal women are usually endowed with the ability to conceive, but Sarah being ninety years old, beyond the proper time of child bearing and barren was given the supernatural power to conceive. For a woman to conceive is to be able to receive deposit of virile semen in the womb. God is always faithful or trustworthy to execute His promise. Sarah is the model of all godly women, not the American feminist model. Obey in Greek is hypakouō  which means to be obedient to, submit to, listen; - it occurs 21 times in the New Testament. Just as the church must obey Christ, so wife must submit to her husband. Interestingly the beautiful and noble Sarah called her husband Abraham lord. Women who follow Sarah in doing what is right have no fear.

5.   God blessed Abraham’s son Isaac.

Gen 25:11,“It came about after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac lived by Beer-lahai-roi.”

Gal 4:28,“And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.”

Hbr 11:9,“By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise.”

Note: Promise in Greek is epaggelia which means the act of promising, a promise given or to be given; - it occurs 53 times in the New Testament.

Gal 3:17,“What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.”

Note: God gave a promise to Abraham by faith and through grace; the Law came four hundred and thirty years later. The covenant of God with Abraham was ratified by God with the promise. The promise of the coming of the Messiah was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.

6.   God blessed Jacob.

Gen 35:9,“Then God appeared to Jacob again when he came from Paddan-aram, and He blessed him.”

Gen 48:3,“Then Jacob said to Joseph: God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me.”

Rom 9:13,“Just as it is written: JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED.”

Hbr 11:21,“By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.”

Note: God blessed Jacob because He blessed Abraham first, and then Isaac and so consistently blessed Jacob.

7.   The Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house on account of Joseph.

Gen 39:5,“It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; thus the LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field.”

Note: This is a very instructive truth. Sometimes God blessed someone on account of someone else. The greatest example, believers in Christ are blessed on account of Abraham the father of believers. The Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house on account of Joseph. Just as the Chinese saying: Because you love the house, you also love everything connected to it. It is good to associate with the righteous, for you will receive the blessing of the righteous. If God blesses the lake, all the fish in it are also blessed. If the Lord blesses the house, all members of the house are also blessed. If you associate with the wise, you will learn wisdom. If you associate with the virtuous, you will learn virtue. In ancient China, when a woman is married to the emperor and becomes the empress, all members of her family are rewarded with high positions and presents. Everyone will get the blessing appropriate to him. You receive blessing according to who you are and what kind of person you are and how you act, and how you obey the Word of God.

8.   God will bless the righteous.

Psa 5:12,“For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.”

Note:  Righteous in Hebrew is tsaddiyq which means as justified by God, to be counted innocent from sin; - it occurs 206 times in the Old Testament. How can a man be justified (counted righteous) before God?

Rom 3:23-24,“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”

Note: Justification is a gift by God’s grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. On God’s part, it is completed.

Rom 3:26,“For the demonstration of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”

Note: God is just and the Justifier of all who have faith in Christ. Sinners are justified (counted righteous) by faith in Jesus Christ. Blessed are those whose sins are covered by the precious blood of Jesus.

Rom 4:6,“Just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.”

Rom 4:9,“Is this blessing then on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say: FAITH WAS CREDITED TO ABRAHAM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

Note: God counts those who believe in Christ as righteousness.

9.   The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Psa 29:11,“The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace.”

Note: Peace in Hebrew is shalowm  which means quiet, tranquility, security, contentment, completeness, soundness, wellbeing, soundness; - it occurs 236 times in the Old Testament.

Jesus says, Jhn 16:33,“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Note: In the world there is trouble and tribulation; Christians have peace in Jesus.

10.   God bless those who fear the Lord.

Psa 115:13,“He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great.”

Note: Fear in Hebrew is yare' which means to revere, be afraid, stand in awe of, honor, respect, reverence; - it occurs 314 times in the Old Testament.

Act 9:31,“So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.”

Note: The healthy state of the church is going on in the fear of the Lord. The church that fears the Lord will have the comfort of the Holy Spirit and continues to increase.

11.   God blesses those who share with the poor.

Deu 24:19,“When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.”

Note: God will bless you to share your harvest or the fruit of your labor with the poor. God will bless you in all the work of your hands. How the world has changed. Wall Street executives make billions in the work of their gambling on investor’s money. They do nothing productive. They looted the world more than $50 trillion in the economic and financial crisis they created. God will bless those who share with the poor. Charities that receive every $100 donation only give out $1 will not be blessed, but cursed because they rob the poor.

12.   Those who are saved are blessed.

Psa 3:8,“Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.”

Psa 24:5,“He shall receive a blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

Note: It is of utmost importance to know that Salvation belongs to God. All man-made religions teach that you can save yourself by doing good deeds. The Bible makes it clear; no one is good enough to go to heaven for no one is righteous before God. The good news is that Jesus Christ the Savior of the world accomplished the redemption of mankind by dying on the cross for sinners, so that anyone who repents and believes in Him may be counted as righteous and receives the salvation of God by grace through faith.

13.   Those who rebuke the wicked will be blessed.

Pro 24:25,“But to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.”

Note: To rebuke the wicked is a dangerous thing. John the Baptist rebuked the wicked king Herod and lost his head. Where are the preachers who preach against evil empire of warmongering, supremacists who start wars of conquest by killing millions of people in order to dictate and dominate the world? Where are the preachers who preach against Wall Street greed, Washington corruption and Hollywood immorality? Do you know any American preacher who dares to preach against the sins of lying and killing by American presidents and officials? Many preachers pride themselves for being invited to the White House, palaces, famous houses and state dinners. To obey God in rebuking the wicked is a blessing even if you lose your life for doing it.

14.   Those who are worthy will receive blessing of peace.

Mat 10:13,“If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace.”

Note: The Gospel of Jesus Christ must be proclaimed to every human being. Those who reject it are not worthy of the blessing of peace with God. Those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are counted worthy to receive the blessing of salvation.

15.   Jesus blessed children.

Mar 10:16,“And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.”

Note: Jesus blesses children, let them come to Him. We must become like a child in order to enter the Kingdom of God. Today in China, however, there are many spoiled children, spoiled by their parents and grandparents. Children grown up without discipline and training will become liabilities to society. I saw a 5-year old girl slapped her mother. I saw so many unruly and delinquent children. Bad parents produce bad children. Bad children grow up to be bad people.

16.   Jesus blessed His disciples.

Luk 24:50-51,And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.”

Note: Bless in Greek is eulogeō which means to invoke blessings, ask God's blessing on, pronounce a consecratory blessing on, bestow blessings on; - it occurs 44 times in the New Testament.

Eph 1:3-4,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love.”

Note: Jesus Christ bestows spiritual blessings on believers to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world. Blessings are mainly spiritual, not what prosperity gospel preachers preach material and monetary blessings.

II.     Some People Blessed the Lord.

This does not mean that God needs blessings from men. When God blesses a man, God bestows His blessings on him. When a saint blesses God, it means he adores and praises God. The distinction is clear although the same word is used and it means two different things.

1.   Abraham called on the Everlasting God.

Gen 21:33,“Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.”

Gen 13:4,“To the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.”

Note: Call in Hebrew is qara' which means to call to, cry for help, call with name of God, cry out, ask for help; - it occurs 735 times in the Old Testament. Those who call on the name of the Lord will bless God.

2.   Job in his adversity blessed the name of the Lord.

Job 1:21,“He said: Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD.”

Note: Bless in Hebrew is barak  which means to praise with a reverential mind, adore, salute; - it occurs 330 times in the Old Testament. Job exemplified the correct attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness even in the midst of adversity. It is easy to praise God in prosperity; it is difficult to praise God in adversity. It is nothing unusual to praise the Lord for prosperity; it is something to praise the Lord for adversity.

Job 13:15,“Though He slays me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.”

Note: Saints of God, you may face a situation so bad that you may think God has abandoned you. Trust Him, everything will be o.k. Though God slays me, yet I will trust Him.

Job 42:12,“The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had 14,000 sheep and 6,000 camels and 1,000 yoke of oxen and 1,000 female donkeys.”

Note: The end of the righteous will be alright. In my darkest days of trials and tribulations, difficulties and discriminations in America, I was afraid that I might become a street beggar. But the Word of God encouraged and strengthened me,

Psa 37:25,“I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.”

I am a descendant of the righteous and the Lord has not forsaken me.

I can honestly say with Jacob, Gen 48:15-16,“He blessed Joseph, and said: The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my Shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and may my name live on in them, and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.” God has been my Great Shepherd all my life to this day. Knowing what I am knowing now, I doubt if I can do it again and make it in America. The American dream is dead!

Psa 18:46,“The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my Salvation.”

But I will live because my Redeemer lives forever. Praise my Rock, the Rock of ages, the God of my Salvation.

3.   David blessed God.

1Sa 25:32,“Then David said to Abigail: Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me.”

1Ch 29:10,“So David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly; and David said: Blessed are You, O LORD God of Israel our father, forever and ever.”

1Ch 29:20,“Then David said to all the assembly: Now bless the LORD your God. So all the assembly blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before the LORD and the king.”

Psa 16:7,“I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”

Note: All the Scriptures cited above David used the same word “bless” in the Hebrew language that Job used in Job 1:21. David was a remarkable man who was greatly blessed by God who saved him from death many times. It is most instructive and profitable to study the life of David. Thus David had many reasons to adore and praise God with a reverential heart and mind. The Book of Psalms was written by David, the book teaches us how to pray to God.

4.   Solomon blessed the Lord.

1Ki 1:48,“The king has also said thus: Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has granted one to sit on my throne today while my own eyes see it.”

Note: Solomon could not have made king had it not for the blessing of the Lord, for the contender might have killed him. My eyes have seen the blessing and glory of the Lord.

5.   Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

Dan 2:19-20,“Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven; Daniel said: Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him.”

Note: Bless here in Aramaic is bĕrak which means to knell down in worship, praise; - it occurs 5 times in the Old Testament. Daniel was a great prophet to whom the Lord of heaven revealed the mystery and gave him wisdom.

Jesus Christ says; Mat 24:14-15,“This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand).” Often we read the prophecy and do not understand. Do not use private interpretation of the prophecy of the Lord concerning the things to come.

6.   Nebuchadnezzar blessed the Most High.

Dan 4:34,“But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.”

Question: Why Nebuchadnezzar blessed God? The answer is below:

Dan 3:28,“Nebuchadnezzar responded and said: Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king's command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.”

Note: The word used by Nebuchadnezzar in blessing God is bĕrak (Aramaic) the same word used by Daniel in

Dan 2:19-20. Nebuchadnezzar was punished for his arrogance that he lost his sanity and lived like an animal. There are many supremacists and warmongers who have lost their senses. When he raised his eyes toward heaven, God returned his reason to him. Today there are so many leaders of nation who are like Nebuchadnezzar, they are arrogant and have lost their sanity and behave like animals. The worst of all, many of these men think they are Christians. They use the name of God and Christ to advance their political power; in fact they are agents of the ruler of this world.

7.   Simeon blessed God.

Luk 2:25-30,“And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law, then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said: Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation.”

Note: Consolation in Greek is paraklēsis which means that which affords comfort or refreshment, the Messianic salvation; - it occurs 29 times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ the Messianic Savior is the consoler, comforter. After the eyes of Simeon had seen the salvation of God, he was happy to be released and depart in peace. Christians are not looking for the world to get better (the world will get worse because the wicked will get worse); believers are looking for the consolation when Jesus Christ returns to judge the world and reign with the saints. There is no utopia on earth. There is no Christian nation. There is no Christendom. There is no Kingdom of God on earth. Jesus Christ says: My kingdom is not of this world. The Kingdom of Christians is not of this world.

III.     Reasons to Bless God.

1.   God has not turned away my prayer.

Psa 66:20,“Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer nor His lovingkindness from me.”

Note: Lovingkindness in Hebrew is checed  which means goodness, kindness, faithfulness, benevolence, mercy, pity; - it occurs 248 times in the Old Testament. Because of God’s lovingkindness, He has not turned away our prayers. It is wonderful to have God’s many answered prayers. If you turn away from God, you lose. If God turns away from you, you perish.

Psa 23:6,“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

Note: I would rather have goodness and lovingkindness of the Lord to follow me all the days of my life than to have friends of the rich and powerful.

Why?

1Ch 16:34,“O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

Note: One of many reasons to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. The lovingkindness of the Lord is everlasting; money, power and pleasure of the world are temporary and transient. They will all pass away.

2.   God daily bears our burden.

Psa 68:19,“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. Selah.”

Note: Bear burden in Hebrew is `amac which means to carry a load; - it occurs 9 times in the Old Testament. Man has many burdens, even the children of God like other men have burdens: the burden of family, burden of job, burden of school, burden of sickness, burden of poverty, burden of insecurity, burden of worry, burden pain, burden of loss, burden of injustice, burden of being discriminated and oppressed, etc. Oh, blessed be the Lord who daily bears our burden, for God is our salvation. No saints really or fully know how and how much God daily bears our burdens.

3.   God gives strength and power to the people.

Psa 68:35,“O God, You are awesome from Your sanctuary. The God of Israel Himself gives strength and power to the people. Blessed be God!”

Note: Awesome in Hebrew is yare' which means stupendous, admirable, dreadful, illustrious, wonderful; - it occurs 314 times in the Old Testament. Many Americans worship power and think presidency is awesome. To many wealth and power are awesome. God is awesome far above what human beings can imagine. Strength in Hebrew is `oz which means might material or physical, personal or social or political, glory; - it occurs 93 times in the Old Testament. Power in Hebrew is ta`atsumah which means multiple strength; - it occurs only once in the Old Testament.

Psa 62:11,“Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God.”

Note: Supremacists (black and white and evil empire of Japan and rat and rogue nations like Philippines and Vietnam, etc.) are dangerous and aggressive people intoxicated with power, so they want to dominate and dictate the world. They arrogantly pass laws in violation of the sovereignty of other nations. The Bible reminds them: Power belongs to God. Little worms, do not be so arrogant and ruthless for the Day of Judgment is at hand. The days of the wicked are numbered.

4.   God alone works wonders.

Psa 72:18,“Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who alone works wonders.”

Note: Wonders are God’s marvelous, extraordinary, distinguishing and wonderful acts. Scientists cannot work wonders; they even fail to comprehend wonders. Unbelieving scientists fail to comprehend the wonders of creation.

Act 2:22,“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.”

Note: When God manifested in Man as Jesus Christ, He was attested to people by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him. The Triune God is Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. God’s power is manifested in miracles and wonders and signs.

5.   God is blessed for His glorious name.

Psa 72:19,“And blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.”

Note: Name in Hebrew is shem which means reputation, fame, glory, authority, designation; - it occurs 864 times in the Old Testament. Glorious in Hebrew is kabowd  which means magnificent, honorable, splendid, precious; - it occurs 200 times in the Old Testament. The name of God is glorious because God is glorious. Most of the powerful and wealthy people in the world are infamous and inglorious.

6.   God is blessed who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.

Psa 124:6,“Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.”

Note: God has not given means God has not permitted. God has not given believers to be torn by the teeth of the wicked. God controls whatever comes to pass, even those things we think should not have happened. Had it not been the LORD who was on our side, we would have been torn by the teeth of the wicked. Had it not been for the Lord, I would have been perished. There are countless of bad things that God has not permitted to happen. Thank God for not giving us many bad things.

7.   God has accomplished redemption for His people.

Luk 1:68,“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people.”

Note: Redemption in Greek is lytrōsis  which means a ransoming, deliverance from the penalty of sin; - it occurs only 3 times in the New Testament. Accomplish in Greek is poieō  which means to make ready, perform, produce, bring out the object or end of an act; - it occurs 579 times in the New Testament. God has accomplished redemption in Jesus Christ for all who repent and believe in the Lord Jesus.

Jhn 19:30,“Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said: It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.”

Note: The last word of Jesus on the cross was: It is finished. The act of redemption was finished or accomplished. Redemption is the act, while salvation is the finished product. Redemption was what Jesus Christ had accomplished, salvation is the gift of God for all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

8.   God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

Eph 1:3,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

Note: Spiritual in Greek is pneumatikos which means relating to the human spirit, or rational soul, as part of the man which is akin to God and serves as his instrument or organ; emanating from the Divine Spirit or exhibiting its effects and so its character; - it occurs 26 times in the New Testament. Prosperity gospel is a false gospel because it promises people with material blessings contrary to spiritual blessings. Those who place the earthly above the heavenly do not have the Holy Spirit in them. Those who value material things above spiritual things have not been born again. Those who think being Christians is to have money, power and pleasure in this world are sorely mistaken.

9.   Blessed be God who has caused us to be born again.

1Pe 1:3,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

Note: Mercy in Greek is eleos which means kindness and clemency of God in providing and offering to men salvation by Christ, Christ at His return to judgment will bless true Christians with eternal life; - it occurs 38 times in the New Testament. To be born again in Greek is anagennaō which means to be born anew, born from above, to have one's nature changed by the Holy Spirit so that one lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God; - it occurs only twice in the New Testament. To be born again is the most important thing in any human life. To be born again is to receive the new life and have the Holy Spirit living in you. Those who have been born again have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The new life is the eternal life to be realized at the return of Jesus Christ to reign with the saints forever and ever.

10.   Bless the Lord for the good land which He has given you.

Deu 8:10,“When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you.”

Note: America is a good land, full of natural resources. If I say the Lord has given a good land to Americans, it would be a lie. The good land was given to the natives of America the Red Indians, but white people robbed the Indian land by conquest; so much so they almost killed off the Red Indians. American leaders are not contented with the good land they now possess, they want to be the supreme power in Asia Pacific, and incited and coordinated with American allies and rat and rogue nations like Japan, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, etc. to have war with China so that they can seize the natural and strategic resources of the South China Sea and the East China Sea. China is a good land where Chinese people have lived for more than 5,000 years. It was greatly polluted and damaged in recent years, but now it is being renewed, recovered and rejuvenated. For example, Chinese government has planted billions of trees and recovered million acres of land. By the same token private cars become number one air and environmental polluters in China. If private cars are not curbed and controlled, they can cause great damage to China in many ways

11.   Bless His name for the good news of His salvation.

Psa 96:2,“Sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.”

Note: Proclaim the good news in Hebrew is basar which means to bear news, bear tidings, publish, preach, show forth, announce salvation as good news, preach; - it occurs 24 times in the Old Testament. We sing to the Lord and praise His name because of the good news of His salvation.

Act 4:12,“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Note: Salvation is only in Jesus Christ, and no one else. There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. Only Jesus can save. Jesus saves sinners.

12.   Bless the Lord for all His benefits.

Psa 103:2,“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

Note: Benefit in Hebrew is gĕmuwl which means dealing, recompense, reward, favor, gift; - it occurs 19 times in the Old Testament. There are many benefits for God’s children. Among them is salvation, eternal life.

Psa 116:12,“What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me?”

Note: Be grateful to the Lord for all His benefits. Render thanks to the Lord for all His benefits toward you.

13.   Bless the Lord for He is very great.

Psa 104:1,“Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty.”

Note: To be great in Hebrew is gadal which means to become important and powerful, to be magnified, to be exalted, to be celebrated; - it occurs 115 times in the Old Testament. Honor in Hebrew is howd which means splendor, loftiness, majesty, vigor, beauty, glory; - it occurs 24 times in the Old Testament. Some dangerous and useless men think they are great. God is great and clothed with honor and majesty.

IV.     Who Are Blessed.

1.   Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven.

Psa 32:1-2,“Psalm of David. A Maschil. How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!”

Note: Maschil in Hebrew is maskiyl which means song or poem of contemplation; - it occurs 13 times in the Old Testament. According the great preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon, “Maschil is a new title to us, and indicates that this is an instructive or didactic Psalm.” Transgression in Hebrew is pesha` which means sin against God, rebellion, trespass; - it occurs 93 times in the Old Testament. Iniquity in Hebrew is `avon  which means perversity, depravity, guilt contracted by sinning, fault, mischief, sin; - it occurs 230 times in the Old Testament. To impute in Hebrew is chashab which means to think, calculate, make a judgment, charge, impute, reckon, count; - it occurs 124 times in the Old Testament. Who is the person the Lord does not count his sin? Believer. Everyone who accepts and believes in Jesus Christ, whose sins are forgiven and not counted against them. Those who have the Holy Spirit living in them have no deceit. The two greatest deceits in the world are imperialism and terrorism. Imperialists professing to be Christians but they are liars and murderers who kill peoples all over the world in order to dictate and dominate the world. Terrorists deceive themselves in believing by killing the innocent in the name of their religion or god they will have many virgins to have sex with in Paradise.

Question: Why the man to whom God does not count iniquity is blessed?

Rom 8:1,“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Because Jesus Christ died for those who are in Christ and they receive the forgiveness of sins.

Rom 3:24,“Being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”

Note: Those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus are justified as a gift by God’s grace.

2.   The Lord sets before you a blessing and a curse.

Deu 11:26-28,“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am commanding you today; and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following other gods which you have not known.”

Deu 30:1,“So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your God has banished you.”

Deu 30:19,“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”

Note: Your choice will determine whether you have the blessing or the curse. Choose life means you listen to the commandments of the Lord. Choose death if you do not listen to the Word of God.

3.   The Lord your God will bless you in the land.

Deu 30:16,“In that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.”

Note: The Promised Land was given by God to Abraham and his descendants. No other race or people may claim the Jewish land or Jerusalem for it is the capital of a great king.

4.   Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Psa 33:12,“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.”

Psa 144:15,“How blessed are the people who are so situated; how blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!”

Note: Western nations profess to believe in God are liars because they are imperialists and capitalists. Imperialism and capitalism are not compatible with Christianity. They believe in money, power and sex contrary to the Christian values of faith, hope and love. I said it before and say it again; the United States of America is not a Christian nation. If I say America is a Christian nation, God will curse me because it is a big lie. Mammon is the God of America. The United States has done so much evil and killed countless peoples in the world after World War II. In fact, I am afraid the judgment of God on America is imminent unless the American leaders repent and change their course of direction and action. No evil empire can escape divine judgment as history has unmistakably attested since Babylon.

5.   Blessed in the man who takes refuge in the Lord.

Psa 34:8,“O taste and see that the LORD is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”

Note: To take refuge in Hebrew is chalah which means to seek refuge, flee for protection, put trust in God, confide or hope in God, trust in; - it occurs 37 times in the Old Testament. American leaders make refuge in their nuclear weapons, anti-missile defense systems. They are sorely mistaken because their military power will not be able to save America. There are many who mistake in thinking money and power can save them.

6.   Those blessed by God will inherit the land.

Psa 37:22,“For those blessed by Him will inherit the land, but those cursed by Him will be cut off.”

Note: There are only two groups of people, not the rich and poor, but those who are blessed by God and those who are cursed. The wicked and unbelievers are cursed. To believe in Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior is to be blessed. The wicked will be cut off in hell forever. In this world the rich and powerful inherit the land. In the world to come, those who are blessed by God will inherit a new heaven and a new earth, the New Jerusalem the Holy City.

Mat 25:34,“Then the King will say to those on His right: Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Note: The Kingdom of God, the Paradise of God is far far better than any land or nation on earth.

7.   Blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust.

Psa 40:4,“How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.”

Psa 84:5, “How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion!”

Psa 84:12,“O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!”

Pro 16:20,“He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.”

Jer 17:7,“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD.”

Note: Trust in Hebrew is mibtach which means confidence, refuge, object of confidence, security, hope; - it occurs 15 times in the Old Testament. American leaders are leading the American people astray - leading them to the path of destruction. Although in American money it says, In God we trust. In fact, American politicians and officials glorify in military might. They proudly show off their military power (attack planes, warships, missiles, anti-missiles, etc.) to intimidate nations they do not like or afraid to be their rivals. The fact that America with its allies and rat and rouge nations are making military drills and exercises provocatively everywhere speaks volumes of their trust in military supremacy. The U.S. government sets its hope and trust on American military might, and uses it military might to threaten China and Russia and wants to dictate and dominate the world – for these two reasons God will destroy America. Americans make money and power their trust. Americans worship the gods of money, power and sex. This is the way to be cursed, not blessed.

8.   Blessed is he who considers the helpless.

Psa 41:1-2,“For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How blessed is he who considers the helpless; the LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble. The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, and he shall be called blessed upon the earth; and do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.”

Note: If you consider the helpless, God will bless you and deliver you in a day of trouble. Helpless in Hebrew is dal which means low, poor, weak, needy, powerless, one who is low; - it occurs 48 times in the Old Testament. In American society the 1 percent rich and powerful oppresses and exploits the helpless 99 percent. America wastes most of its resources on defense and military conquest and overlooks the internal pressing problems. The American economic (capitalism) and political (democracy) systems serve and enrich the rich and powerful 1 percent. So the days of trouble fall upon America.

9.   Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound.

Psa 89:15,“How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance.”

Note:  Joyful sound is the shout of joy. If you want to know the joyful sound, you must walk in the light of the Lord. Those who walk in darkness will have groan and moan of sorrows and death.

10.   Blessed is the man whom God chasten.

Psa 94:12,“Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O LORD, and whom You teach out of Your law.”

Note: Chasten in Hebrew is yacar which means to discipline, instruct, admonish, correct, chastise, reprove, punish; - it occurs 43 times in the Old Testament. Teach in Hebrew is lamad which means to train, beat with a rod, instruct, discipline; - it occurs 86 times in the Old Testament. To discipline is to teach any one something through pain. Pain makes man think. Thinking makes man wise. Wisdom is to do right.

2Ti 1:7,“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.”

Note: God disciplines whom He loves. Something is ominous in China, many boys and girls are spoiled by their parents and grandparents.

11.   Blessed are those who keep justice.

Psa 106:3,“How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times!”

Note: Justice in Hebrew is mishpat which means right, judgment, rectitude, right cause, law and order, according to law, righteousness, that is just; - it occurs 421 times in the Old Testament. Since the founding of the United States America has done so much evil and injustice. In the beginning, not only robbing the land of American Indians, also almost killed off the natives of America. The U.S has oppressed China from the infamous Opium Wars until now. The only thing that America did that was right was participating in WWII to help destroy Germany and the evil empire of Japan. There is no justice in American society when 1 percent of the population controls the 99 percent, and where the 1 percent owns most of the wealth and power. American legal system is a travesty of justice; American healthcare system is the most costly, fraudulent and predatory system in the world – the blood sucker that has sucked more than $3 trillion a year and threatened and bankrupted millions of families. In the sight of God, America does not keep justice and does not practice righteousness and it is inciting its allies and rat and rogue nations and leading them in preparing war of aggression against China in order to become the supreme power in Asia Pacific although the U.S. is located in North America in order to seize the natural and strategic resources of the South China Sea and the East China Sea.

The United States, and its allies the evil empire of Japan, rat and rogue nations of Philippines, Vietnam, etc. distort historical facts and justice.

12.   Blessed is the man who fears the Lord.

Psa 112:1,“Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments.”

Psa 128:1, “A Song of Ascents. How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.”

Psa 128:4,“Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.”

Pro 28:14,“How blessed is the man who fears always, but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.”

Note: I discover something most frightening, although most American leaders claim to be Christians and yet they do not fear the Lord, and walk in ways condemned by God (such as legalizing same-sex marriage and homosexuality, bent on world conquest and domination, telling lies and distorting facts, oppressing and exploiting the weak and helpless, etc.). I am afraid calamity and disaster of immense proportion will fall into America soon suddenly unless America repents and changes its course of direction and action.

13.   The generation of the upright will be blessed.

Psa 112:2,“His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.”

Note: Today those who have power and wealth are not the children of God, but children of darkness and enemies of truth. Nevertheless, the upright will be blessed. The upright will be blessed not in money and power.

14.   Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.

Psa 118:26,“Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the LORD; we have blessed you from the house of the LORD.”

Note: Jesus Christ was the One who came in the name of the Lord. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. We are all sinners who will perish unless we repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

15.   Blessed are those whose way is blameless.

Psa 119:1,“Aleph. How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD.”

Note: Blessed in Hebrew is 'esher which means happy; - it occurs 45 times in the Old Testament. Blameless in Hebrew is tamiym which means complete, whole, entire, sound, wholesome, having integrity, without blemish, sincere, upright, what is complete or entirely in accord with truth and fact; - it occurs 91 times in the Old Testament. Although America claims to be a Christian nation, it does most un-Christian activities.

16.   Blessed are those who observe God’s testimonies.

Psa 119:2,“How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.”

Note: Those who observe the Word of God must seek Him with all their heart. It is not hearing the Word of God which is blessed; it is doing the Word of God which is blessed.

17.   Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

Psa 127:5,“How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; they will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.”

Note: Quiver in Hebrew is 'ashpah which means arrows, God’s instruments; - it occurs 6 times in the Old Testament. You cannot speak with your enemies if your quiver is not full. The nation which is unable to defend itself will be ashamed. The most effective defense for China is the ICBMs with multiple warheads, speed and accuracy that can target anywhere anytime in 15,000 miles. These long-ranged and powerful ICBMs can deter any aggression and maintain peace and stability in the world. Then no nation on earth can oppress China anymore. Western powers and the evil empire of Japan have oppressed China in the past, and they are not plotting to seize China’s territories in the South China Sea and the East China Sea.

18.   Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob.

Psa 146:5,“How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God.”

Note: America relies on its economic and financial power; however it was destroyed by crooks and criminals of Wall Street. America now relies on its military might, it too will fail because God does not bless a warmonger or evil empire. Psa 127:1, “A Song of Ascents, of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.” Let all Christians learn, our help is the God of Jacob, and our hope is in the Lord our God. No missiles or anti-missiles can guard the United States. No amount of nuclear weapons can save American from destruction. Why the God of Jacob? Because Jacob had suffered a great deal and the Lord had shepherded his life and delivered him from many troubles.

19.   Blessed is the man who finds wisdom.

Pro 3:13, “How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding.”

Note: Wisdom is supreme. Wisdom is better than wealth, better than gold and silver. Western nations do not cherish wisdom; nations that join the Western military bloc also do not have wisdom. Any society that values money, power and sex above everything has no wisdom. You cannot find wisdom in capitalism, imperialism and terrorism.

20.   Blessed are those who listen to wisdom.

Pro 8:32,“Now therefore, O sons, listen to me, for blessed are they who keep my ways.”

Pro 8:34,“Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts.”

Note: The world has rejected wisdom, truth and justice. Where are the leaders of nations who listen to wisdom?  Wisdom says: Peace is better than war. But the whole world is preparing for war, war of aggression. Leaders of the world do not seek peace and harmony, they seek war and destruction. In my life experience, I often observe something very strange: Truth finds very few followers; lies and falsehoods have the masses and great crowds to follow them. The Bible says, Repent and believe in Jesus or you will die in your sins. Who is listening? False prophets set dates of the end of the world, how many believed in them repeatedly. For example, wisdom tells you it is most dangerous to want to get rich quick. Those who dream of becoming millionaires fall into a trap and bottomless pit of debts and violence. There are unlimited traps for those who do not listen to wisdom. Young women fancy wealth by selling their bodies and get AIDS and STDs, many even lost their lives. Young men dream of riches by engaging in drug trafficking, unluckily got killed, some landed in jail. People rely on luck to engage in gambling and lose everything but gain big debt. People who rob banks and stores want to get rich quick die in gun fighting or rot in jail. The examples are endless. Folly has no limitation. If the American leaders would listen to wisdom, it is in the interest of America to give up the empire, abandon seeking world domination, relinquish” containment of China” policy and seek peace and harmony in the world.

21.   Blessed are the sons of a righteous man who walks in his integrity.

Pro 20:7,“A righteous man who walks in his integrity— How blessed are his sons after him.”

Note: Integrity in Hebrew is tom which means completeness, wholeness, innocence, simplicity, uprightness, state of moral soundness, honesty; - it occurs 23 times in the Old Testament. The Bible says: Blessed are the children of a righteous man, not a powerful man or a wealthy man.

Psa 37:25,“I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging for bread.”

Note: There was an economic hard time in America, even PhDs could not find a job and became taxi drivers. Thank God who saw me through adversity; I have never begged for bread or became homeless street people.

22.   He who is generous will be blessed.

Pro 22:9,“He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.”

Note: Some of the most miserly and niggardly people I have met in my life are the rich. Do not think rich people are generous. I cannot stand when I see a rich person taking advantage of the poor.

Ecc 11:1,“Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.”

Jesus says: It is more blessed to give than to receive.

23.   Blessed are the people whose king is of nobility.

Ecc 10:17,“Blessed are you, O land, whose king is of nobility and whose princes eat at the appropriate time—for strength and not for drunkenness.”

Note: You wonder why the world is full of problems. Can you find any nation whose leader is of nobility? There are too many leaders of nations of depravity and who commit corruption, immorality, greed, abuse of power, arrogance, etc. It would be offensive to put out a list of bad and corrupt leaders of nations.

24.   Blessed are those who long for God of justice.

Isa 30:18,“Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; how blessed are all those who long for Him.”

Note: Long in Hebrew is chakah which means to wait, wait for, await, wish earnestly; - it occurs 14 times in the Old Testament. The God of Christianity is the God of justice. Many supremacist (black and white and evil Japanese) think to be great is to be arrogant and overpowering; to be powerful is to be unjust and oppressive. The God of the Bible is the God of justice. There is no justice in imperialism, capitalism and terrorism. Do not fool yourself if you are an imperialist, capitalist and terrorist; for the God of justice is your enemy. I long for the second coming of Jesus Christ when He shall rule the world with justice and reign with the saints forever and ever.

25.   Blessed is the man who keeps his hand from doing any evil.

Isa 56:2,“How blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who takes hold of it; who keeps from profaning the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

Note: From the beginning the hand of America had done injustice, evil and violence to the natives of America, the Red Indians; and after World War II the hand of imperialist has done evil all over the world and killed millions of innocent people in order to seek world domination. To do justice is to be blessed. To do evil is to be cursed. There are infamous people who exist for doing evil.

26.   Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Mat 5:3,“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”

Note: Poor in spirit does not mean poverty in this world’s goods, although those who are rich and powerful are usually arrogant in spirit, not meek. The rich and powerful people are difficult to enter the Kingdom of God. The poor in spirit are humble in spirit. The most arrogant people on earth are supremacists whether white or black. Supremacists build their evil empire by force and violence, by aggression and military intervention, by military supremacy and wars of conquest. Those who are humble in spirit beg for God’s mercy and trust in the Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

27.   Blessed are those who mourn.

Mat 5:4,“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Note: Mourn in Greek is pentheō which means to lament, wail, bewail, grieve, feel or express sorrow; - it occurs 10 times in the New Testament. God will comfort those who mourn. If you do evil and suffer its consequences and mourn, God will not comfort such mourning. Comfort in Greek is parakaleō which means to console, to encourage and strengthen by consolation, receive consolation, encourage, strengthen, refresh, cheer; - it occurs 109 times in the New Testament. In the midst of adversity and difficulty, saints mourn in the world; but they will be comforted when Jesus Christ returns to reign.

28.   Blessed are the meek.

Mat 5:5,“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Note: Meek in Greek is praÿs which means mildness of disposition, gentleness of spirit; - it occurs 3 times in the New Testament.

Gentleness or meekness is the opposite of self-centeredness and self-interest. Meekness stems from trust in God's goodness and control over the life and world situation. The meek are not imperialists or supremacists. The supremacists and imperialists want to inherit the earth by building their empire through wars of aggression and conquest. It is anything but meek for the United States to want to be the supreme power in Asia Pacific and its allies to want the territories of China in the South China Sea and the East China Sea. The meek is just the opposite of what the world is doing now. If you want a territory, rat and rogue nations just make false claims to it, send war ships to the islands, go fishing on the islands, have alliance with the sole superpower so that it may support your aggression with its military might.

29.   Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Mat 5:6,“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Note: I am frightened by American imperialism that hungers and thirsts for power and world domination at all cost. I am also frightened by American capitalism which hungers and thirsts for wealth and the love of money by all means. Righteousness that we must hunger and thirst for is the righteousness of God.

30.   Blessed are the merciful.

Mat 5:7,“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Note: Merciful in Greek is eleēmōn  which means having mercy, full of mercy, showing mercy, compassionate; - it occurs only 3 times in the New Testament. I am infuriated by foreign and domestic executives who are most brutal and cruel and oppressive – they treat their employees as slaves, and their employees are forced to work 7 days and 7 nights every week. The most pathetic is the fact some of those corrupt and wicked executives call themselves Christians; just like Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan who worships idols publically and calls himself a Christian. Those who are merciful shall receive mercy. Those who are cruel will not receive mercy.

31.   Blessed are the pure in heart.

Mat 5:8,“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Note: Pure in Greek is katharos which means clean, purified, no uncleanness, free from corrupt desire, from sin and guilt; blameless, innocent, unstained with the guilt of anything; - it occurs 28 times in the New Testament. Western culture produces some of the worst lovers of power, money and sex. Islamic culture produces some the worst terrorists in history.

32.   Blessed are the peacemakers.

Mat 5:9,“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Note: The sad thing about America is the fact that Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson were warmongers and aggressors of first order. Since the end of World War II, American leaders have been warmongers and war makers who lied and killed millions of peoples around the world. There was a glimpse of hope for peace during the Nixon administration. After Nixon its leaders are not peacemakers, they are warmongers. They have turned the Republic into an evil empire of aggression and oppression.

33.   Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

Mat 5:10,“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”

Note: Persecute in Greek is diōkō which means to pursue in a hostile manner, to be mistreated, suffer persecution on account of something, to be maltreated; - it occurs 44 times in the New Testament. Those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness can be persecuted in many ways: injustice, discrimination, legal blackmail, threat, extortion, physical harm, deprivation, abuse, mistreatment, ruin of reputation, false charge, false accusation, exile, etc. Something is serious wrong with a preacher who has never been persecuted or suffered for the Lord.

34.   Blessed are those whom people insult and persecute because of Jesus.

Mat 5:11,“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.”

Note: Insult in Greek oneidizō which means to reproach, upbraid, revile, suffer reproach; - it occurs 10 times in the New Testament. The worst kind of insult is to falsely say all kinds of evil against a person.

35.   Blessed is he who does not take offense at Jesus.

Mat 11:6,“And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.”

Note: Take offense in Greek is skandalizō which means to cause to fall away, feel annoyed, cause or make to stumble; - it occurs 30 times in the New Testament. Do not take offense at what Jesus says. Truth hurts and offends. Do not expect truth to suit you, make yourself suit the truth.

36.   Blessed are those eyes because they see and ears because they hear.

Mat 13:16,“But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.”

Note: There are many who have eyes but they cannot see; there are many who have ears but they cannot hear. Do you hear the Lord is calling you to repent and come to Him? Do you see the glory of God in Jesus Christ the Savior of the world? Do you see you are a sinner who needs the Savior to save you from your sins?

37.   Blessed is Simon Barjona.

Mat 16:17,“And Jesus said to him: Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”

Note: Reveal in Greek is apokalyptō which means to uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up, disclose, make bare, make known, make manifest, disclose what before was unknown; - it occurs 26 times in the New Testament. Christianity differs from all other religions because it is the revealed truth of God. Simon was blessed because the Father of Christ revealed to the truth to him which flesh and blood did not and cannot reveal. What did God reveal to Simon Peter?

38.   Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

Mat 21:9,“The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting: Hosanna to the Son of David; BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Hosanna in the highest!”

Note: Hosanna in Greek is hōsanna  which means be propitious, auspicious, be propitious to the Messiah; - it occurs 6 times in the New Testament.

Mat 23:39,“For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say: BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!”

Mar 11:9-10,“Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting: Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David; Hosanna in the highest!”

Luk 19:38,“Shouting: BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Jhn 12:13,“Took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout: Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.”

Note: Jesus Christ is the Blessed who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel. Christ is the Son of the Blessed One. There are two comings. The first coming was when God became Man in Jesus Christ who came into the world to save sinners. The second coming is the coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords to judge the world and reign with the saints forever and ever.

39.   Blessed is that slave whom his Master finds so doing.

Mat 24:46,“Blessed is that slave whom his Master finds so doing when He comes.”

Note: Doing what?

Luk 12:37,“Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.:

Note: Blessed is that slave whom his Master finds doing his duty.

40.   Blessed those who are of God to inherit the Kingdom.

Mat 25:34,“Then the King will say to those on His right: Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Note: There are only two groups of people, the right and the left. Not what the Western politics calls the right and the left. For in Western politics, whether the right and the left are all wrong. Those on the right are they who believe and serve the Lord Jesus.

41.   Blessed was Mary among women.

Luk 1:42,“And she cried out with a loud voice and said: Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

Luk 1:45,“And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord."

Luk 1:48,“For He has had regard for the humble state of His bond slave; for behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed.”

Note: Yes, Mary was blessed among women. But Mary was not and is not the mother of God, for God cannot have a mother. Mary was blessed to be selected to carry the holy seed of Abraham in her womb, the Son of God.

42.   Blessed are the poor, for theirs the Kingdom of God.

Luk 6:20,“And turning His gaze toward His disciples, He began to say: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.”

Note: This Scripture does not mean all poor people are blessed. The Scripture does not say all poor people go to heaven. Poverty itself is no guarantee of blessing or salvation. Being poor is more conducive to receive the Gospel and believe in Jesus Christ than being rich. The Gospel is preached to the poor; if the poor receive the Gospel, they will be blessed and theirs is the Kingdom of God.

43.   Blessed are they who hunger now, for they shall be satisfied.

Luk 6:21,“Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”

Note: Hunger is a pain. If you have never suffered hunger, you do not know what hunger pain is. It is better to be hungry now so that you have food for tomorrow. It is better to hunger now so that you may be satisfied for eternity.

44.   Blessed are they who weep now, for they shall laugh.

Luk 6:21,“Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”

Note: It is better to weep now so that you may have the last laugh. The rich and powerful are laughing now; the day is coming when they will be mourning. Christians will have the last laugh because they will reign with the Lord forever and ever.

45.   Blessed are you when men hate you for the sake of Jesus.

Luk 6:22,“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.”

Note: If you are a true Christian, do not be surprised that people will hate you, and ostracize you, discriminate against you and insult you, and scorn your name as evil for the sake of Jesus Christ. It is strange if you are a servant of Christ and you are popular in the world.

46.   Blessed is he who does not take offense at Jesus.

Luk 7:23,“Blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.”

Note: Take offense in Greek is skandalizō which means to put a stumbling block or impediment in the way, upon which another may trip and fall; - it occurs 30 times in the New Testament. The words of Jesus should give you light so that you do not walk in darkness and stumble.

47.   Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see.

Luk 10:23,“Turning to the disciples, He said privately: Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see.”

Note: The apostles and early disciples were blessed to see the Lord and all His wonders, signs and miracles.

Jhn 20:29, “Jesus said to him: Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Note: We are the Christians who did not see and yet believe.

48.   Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and observe it.

Luk 11:28,“But He said: On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the Word of God and observe it.”

Jhn 13:17,“If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.”

Jam 1:25,“But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.”

Note: An effectual doer of the Word of God is blessed.

49.   Blessed are you since they do not have the means to repay you.

Luk 14:14,“And you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Note: To give to those who cannot repay you and to be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous is a blessing.

50.   Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God.

Luk 14:15,“When one of those who were reclining at the table with Him heard this, he said to Him: Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!”

Note: Those who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God are blessed and better than to be invited to royal banquets or state dinners.

51.   Blessed are the barren.

Luk 23:29, “For behold, the days are coming when they will say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.”

Note: In the great tribulation, it is better to be barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed. When situation changes, the disadvantaged becomes advantageous. It is better to be barren to have a son of perdition or a daughter of ruin.

52.   Blessed are they who did not see and yet believed.

Jhn 20:29, “Jesus said to him: Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Note: Christians after the Ascension of Christ to now are believers who did not see, and yet believed. Jesus Christ says: Blessed are they who did not see and yet believed. Early disciples saw the Lord in person, saw great and wonderful miracles, even the dead come back. Nowadays, believers may not see miracles and yet they believe. Blessed are those believers who did not see and yet believed.

53.   It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Act 20:35, “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Note: Jesus said: It is more blessed to give than to receive. Give and you will be blessed.

54.   Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven.

Rom 4:7,“BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.”

Note: Lawless deeds are sins. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is such that sinners can be forgiven, and our sins can be covered. If you believe in Christ, you shall receive the forgiveness of sins, and your sins covered by the blood of Christ.

55.   Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.

Rom 4:8,“BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT.”

Note: All have sinned, for this reason all will die. If you have no sin, you will not die. Since the beginning all men died because all have sinned. When the Lord does not take your sin into account, it means you have been forgiven, and counted as righteous before God. All whose sins have been forgiven are justified. All who are justified are saved.

56.   Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial.

Jam 1:12,“Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

Note: Persevere in Greek is hypomenō which means to preserve under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one's faith in Christ; persist, endure, bear bravely and calmly ill treatments; - it occurs 17 times in the New Testament. Trial does not mean court trial. Trial in Greek is peirasmos which means adversity, affliction, trouble sent by God and serving to test or prove one's character, faith, holiness; putting to the test; suffering that tries one’s endurance; - it occurs 21 times in the New Testament. Believers who have been approved under trial will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him. Crown of life is better than the wealth and power of the richest and most powerful people in the world.

57.   We count those blessed who endured.

Jam 5:11,“We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.”

Note: Endure in Greek is hypomenō which means to preserve: under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one's faith in Christ, bear bravely and calmly; - it occurs 17 times in the New Testament. Little flock, do not be afraid. Job was the representative that the righteous will have a good end. If you a child of God, you will find the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. Had it not for the mercy of God I would have perished from childhood.

58.   You are blessed even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness.

1Pe 3:14,“But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED.”

Note: Suffer in Greek is paschō which means to undergo evil, feel pain, encounter sadness and sorrow, to be in a bad plight, to be afflicted; - it occurs 42 times in the New Testament. It is one thing to suffer because you have done wrong; it is another to suffer for the sake of righteousness. All prophets and saints have suffered for righteousness. Do not be troubled if you suffer for what is right and good.

1Pe 4:14,“If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”

NoteRevile in Greek is oneidizō which means to reproach, upbraid, suffer reproach; - it occurs 10 times in the New Testament. Many still don’t know that being a Christian may be reviled for the name of Christ. How much more is being a servant of Christ? But do not fear, the Spirit of glory and of God rests on those who suffer reproach and persecution for the name of Christ.

59.   Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy.

Rev 1:3,“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.”

Note: There is a blessing in reading and hearing the words of the prophecy. The greatest unfulfilled prophecy is the second coming of Jesus Christ. The time is near. The time for the coming of Christ is near.

Rev 22:7, “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.”

Note: Jesus Christ is coming quickly means imminently. We do not know exactly when, but the time is near. Be ready for the coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords. The Bible is the book of prophecy; in this Scripture it refers to the Book of Revelation.

60.   Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.

Rev 14:13,“And I heard a voice from heaven, saying: Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on! Yes, says the Spirit, so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”

Note: Why is it blessed to die in the Lord? Those who die in the Lord may rest from their labors, and their deeds follow with them. The life of man is full of labors and worries. When a Christian dies, he rests from his labors. What you have done for the Lord will last forever.

61.   Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes.

Rev 16:15,“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”

Note: The Lord is not a thief, but the coming of the Lord is like a thief. This means when you think not the Lord will come.

62.   Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Rev 19:9,“Then he said to me: Write, Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me: These are true words of God.”

Note: It is far far better to be invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb than to be invited by white house or royal palace to attend a state dinner. Those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb are the redeemed and blessed by God for eternity. Oh, the glory and honor for those who love the Lord are far more than anyone can hope or dream.

63.   Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6,“Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.”

Note: Those who were born once must die twice and will have in the second resurrection. The first death is the physical death; the second death is the eternal death with body and soul. Those who were born twice may die once and have a part in the first resurrection. The first birth is the physical birth, the second birth is the born again or the new life. Those who have been saved may die once which is physical death. Those who die in Christ will have a part in the first resurrection, to have a glorious and spiritual body which is immortal. The second death has no power over them because they will live forever. The saints will reign with Christ for a thousand years and then for eternity.

64.   Blessed are those who wash their robes

Rev 22:14,“Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.”

Note: There is nothing can wash away your sins and my sins but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Question: How do Christians wash their robes?

2Cr 7:1,“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Note: Cleanse in Greek is katharizō  which means to make clean, remove stain and dirt by cleansing, free from defilement of sin and from faults, purify from wickedness; - it occurs 30 times in the New Testament. Blessed are those who cleanse themselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit.

V.     WHO IS BLESSED

1.   Blessed be the Lord.

Psa 89:52,“Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.”

Note: Blessed here means praised. Blessed be the Lord means praised be the Lord. Forever in Hebrew is `owlam  which means long duration, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, continuous existence, indefinite or unending future, eternity; - it occurs 439 times in the Old Testament. Amen in Hebrew is 'amen which means verily, truly, so be it; - it occurs 30 times in the Old Testament. So be it. The Lord be praised forever.

Psa 41:13,“Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.”

Note: Everlasting in Hebrew is `owlam, the same original word used in Psa 89:52 as forever. The praise to God is everlasting because God is everlasting.

Psa 113:2,“Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forever.”

Rev 7:12,“Saying: Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

Note: Blessing in Greek is eulogia which means praise, laudation, panegyric of Christ or God; - it occurs 16 times in the New Testament. The word eulogy is derived from the Greek word. Glory in Greek is doxa which means splendor, brightness, magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, grace, majesty (in the sense of the absolute divine perfection), most glorious condition, most exalted state; - it occurs 168 times in the New Testament. The word doxology is derived from the Greek word. Wisdom in Greek is sophia which means broad and full of intelligence; used of the knowledge of very diverse matters, the varied knowledge of things human and divine, the science and learning, supreme intelligence that belongs to God; it occurs 51 times in the New Testament. Thanksgiving in Greek is eucharistia which means thankfulness, the giving of thanks, to whom thanks are given; - it occurs 15 times in the New Testament. Honor in Greek is timē which means deference, reverence, great respect, dignity; - it occurs 43 times in the New Testament. Power in Greek is dynamis which means inherent power, strength, ability, power for performing miracles, might, royal power of God; - it occurs 120 times in the New Testament. The word dynamite is derived from the Greek word. Might in Greek is ischys which means ability, force, strength, power exerted over things or people by strength; - it occurs 11 times in the New Testament. No matter if you are children of God or children of the devil, remember blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might belong to God.

2.   Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Cr 1:3,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.”

Note: Blessed here in Greek is eulogētos which means praised, blessed applied to God; - it occurs 8 times in the New Testament. Our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be praised because He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. Comfort in Greek is paraklēsis which means consolation, exhortation, admonition, encouragement, solace; - it occurs 29 times in the New Testament.

1Ti 1:11,“According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.”

Note: The Gospel of Jesus Christ is glorious because not only it is the power of God to save everyone who believes in Christ, it gives them power to become the children of God and become heirs.

Tts 3:7,“So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

3.   The Creator is blessed.

Rom 1:25,“For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

Note: Christians who worship and serve the Creator who is blessed forever reject the evolution theory. Evolution is not compatible with creation. Evolution scientists do not know where they come from and where they are going. We Christians know we were made by God and made heirs to the Kingdom of heaven.

4.   The Christ, the Son of the Blessed One.

Mar 14:61,“But He kept silent and did not answer. Again the high priest was questioning Him, and saying to Him: Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

Note: Jesus Christ is the Son of the Blessed One. The Blessed One is the Creator of the universe.

5.   Christ is over all, God blessed forever.

Rom 9:5,“Whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.”

Note: Jesus Christ is over all, over unbelieving scientists and any self-appointed and self-important persons. Jesus Christ is God blessed forever.

6.   The God and Father of the Lord Jesus is blessed forever.

2Cr 11:31,“The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, He who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.”

Note: God is the Father of the Lord Jesus, who is blessed forever.

7.   He who is the Blessed and only Sovereign.

1Ti 6:15,“Which He will bring about at the proper time -- He who is the Blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Note: Jesus Christ is the Blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. All supremacists, imperialists, terrorists will have to bow to the Blessed and only Sovereign and be judged and sent to Hell for eternal punishment.

8.   The Lamb is worthy to receive power... and blessing.

Rev 5:12-13, “Saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying: To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

Note: Pay attention, the rich and powerful! Jesus Christ, the slain Lamb of God, is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. Blessing here in Greek is eulogia  which means praise as it is used in  Rev 7:12,“Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God for ever and ever. Amen.” The most powerful and the richest men on earth are only worms, unworthy worms.

VI.     What Is Blessed.

1.   Let your fountain be blessed.

Pro 5:18,“Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth.”

Note: It is a great blessing for a young couple to be loving and enjoying each other in an affectionate and intimate matter. Extramarital affair kills the joy of conjugal relationship.

2.   The memory of the righteous is blessed.

Pro 10:7,“The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.”

Note: It is not my policy to mention the names of the wicked frequently in my writings. Sometimes it is necessary to reference the names of the wicked in historical perspective sparingly. For sure, the name of the wicked will rot. The infamous will rot in Hell for eternity.

3.   A delightful land is blessed.

Mal 3:12,“All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land, says the LORD of hosts.”

Note: This was the promise of God to Israel, the Promised Land. The land of Judea is not a delightful land today because many infidels and enemies of Israel make claims to the Jewish land, and Israel is surrounded by one billion hostile people. Christians are to pray for the Promised Land.

4.   Blessed is the womb that bore Jesus.

Luk 11:27,“While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him: Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.”

Note: Yes, Mary was blessed among women. However, Mary is not the Mother of God, Mary is only a handmaid of the Lord according to her own confession.

5.   The blessed hope.

Tts 2:13,“Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.”

Note: Blessed in Greek is makarios which means happy, enjoying great happiness, blissful; - it occurs 50 times in the New Testament. Hope in Greek is elpis which means expectation of good, joyful and confident expectation, the thing hoped for; - it occurs 54 times in the New Testament. The greatest joyful expectation of all Christians of all times is the second coming of Jesus Christ, our great God and Savior. The Lord shall appear in great glory and honor.

VII.      Christians are commanded to bless.

1.   Bless those who curse you.

Mat 5:44,“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

Luk 6:28,“Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.”

1Pe 3:9,“Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.”

Note: Christians were called to inherit a blessing, the heavenly blessing. Revenge is contrary to the teaching of Christ. Hatred is un-Christian. It is impossible for a Christian to commit a terrorist act. Those who commit terrorist acts are not Christian. God will deal with the wicked according to His plan and will. A little longer the wicked will be cut off and sent to Hell for punishment forever and ever.

2.   Bless those who persecute you.

Rom 12:14,“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”

1Cr 4:12,“And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure.”

Note: In Chinese culture, revenge is deep-rooted. All the martial art (kongfu) movies are driven and based on revenge. Without revenge there is no story. Christian culture does not practice revenge. Protestant ethics is the Christian ethics. We labor, work with our own hands and with our mind and knowledge. Manual jobs such as farmers, construction workers, etc. are working with their own hands. In modern days, many jobs are knowledge-based and employed computer. Some jobs which require problem-solving skills are more difficult than manual jobs that sweat. The important point, earn your living in the old-fashioned way. Wall Street executives who gamble with investor’s money and earn billions a year is not honest living. Politicians and officials who sell influence and abuse their power do not live honorably.

VIII.     How to Bless the Lord.

1.   Bless the Lord while you live.

Psa 63:4,“Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”

Note: All the good things that you can do, you do while you live. The Chinese has a superstitious belief that when a man dies he turns into a demon. Dead people do not turn into demons. Dead people go to heaven or hell, there is no purgatory. There are many live demons in human form in the world today. Corporate supervisors who demand their employees to work seven days and seven nights, at office and at home, are the modern demons who are most greedy, abusive, oppressive, brutal and inhuman. Employees are forced to work overtime without overtime pay. They run a new slavery system even in China. They demand the employee to do jobs that require special technical skills. The company does not provide technical training, the employee has to get training at her own time and expense. The worst part is that some of these demons call themselves Christians. They call their employees at midnight or early morning and give them assignments to work at night at home until early hours deprived of sleep and have to go work in the morning. They make so much because their subordinates make so little. Employee has to pay for overtime transportation and long distant calls and special training. It is hoped the Chinese government will identify these corporate slave masters and execute them. The wicked get worse and worse, more and more immoral, more and more shameless, more and more inhuman. If there is no God, no judgment to come, the wicked win in this world. But I will bless the Lord while I live; I will lift up my hands in the name of God.

2.   Make the voice of His praise to be heard.

Psa 66:8,“Oh, bless our God, you peoples! And make the voice of His praise to be heard.”

Note: The best way to make the voice praising God to be heard is the singing of the congregation. There was a church in the beginning started singing half an hour before the meeting starts. The congregational singing was joyful and enthusiastic; but the pastor in charge stopped it on the ground American churches do not have such a practice of learning to sing hymns before the worship service starts. I am reminded of the blind leading the blind, and copying the tradition of men as teaching of the Bible. The following Scripture approves singing of the congregations.

3.   Bless God in the congregations.

Psa 68:26, “Bless God in the congregations, the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.”

Note: I must emphasize only the great can bless the lesser. There is no such a thing for the lesser to bless the greater. A son should not say to his father: I bless you. A servant should not say to his master, I bless you. Only God can bless the people, the people praise God for all His blessings. Bless here in Hebrew is barak which means to adore, praise, kneel down, salute; - it occurs 330 times in the Old Testament.

4.   Be thankful to God and bless His name.

Psa 100:4,“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

Note: Thanksgiving in Hebrew is towdah which means thanksgiving in songs of liturgical worship, hymn of praise; praise; - it occurs 32 times in the Old Testament. Praise in Hebrew is tĕhillah which means adoration, thanksgiving paid to God; - it occurs 57 times in the Old Testament.

5.   Bless the Lord, all that is within me.

Psa 103:1,“[A Psalm] of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!”

Note: Bless the Lord is not by mouth only; it must come from within, from your heart and soul.

6.   Lift up your hands in the sanctuary.

Psa 134:2,“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.”

Note: Many uninformed preachers call a church building or meeting place the Holy Temple. Any church building is a meeting place, but not the Temple of God. The Romans destroyed the Temple at Jerusalem, 70 AD. There is no more the Temple of God after the destruction of Jerusalem.

Jhn 4:20-24,“Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus said to her: Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Note: Jesus explained to the Samaritan woman the importance is not where you worship God, but true worshippers who worship the Father in spirit and truth. Think what a blasphemy for a warmonger whose hands are full of innocent blood to lift up his hands in a church to praise God! Imagine a greedy Wall Street executive who defrauded billions to lift up his filthy hands to pray to God in a church!

7.   Bless His holy name.

Psa 145:21,“My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD, and all flesh shall bless His holy name forever and ever.”

Note: The name of God is holy. God has many names and titles. Please see

  The Names of God .

8.   Bless the Lord at all times.

Psa 34:1, “[A Psalm] of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Note: This was one of the most difficult times in David’s life that he had to pretend madness. The Lord delivered David in the days of trouble many times, and so David learned to bless the Lord at all times. The Lord has delivered me from troubles many times; I want to bless the Lord at all times. At all times means all the time.

9.   Give according to the blessing of the Lord.

Deu 16:17,“Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.”

Note: There is no compulsory giving as some churches demand their members. Every believer shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord which He has given you.

10.   May God’s glorious name be blessed and exalted above all.

Neh 9:5,“Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah, said: Arise, bless the LORD your God forever and ever! O may Your glorious name be blessed and exalted above all blessing and praise!”

Note: The glorious name of the Lord God must be blessed and exalted above all blessing and praise.

Deu 10:8,“At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to Him and to bless in His name, to this day.”

Note: To praise God is to minister to the Lord.

11Bless the Lord in the congregations.

Psa 26:12,“My foot stands in an even place; in the congregations I will bless the LORD.”

Note: Congregation in Hebrew is maqhel which means assembly, choir, a gathering of people who praise and serve God; - it occurs 2 times in the Old Testament. You can bless the Lord in your heart; it is even better to bless the Lord in the congregations. Praising God should be a public matter.

12.   Bless the Lord by offering yourself willingly.

Jdg 5:2,“When leaders lead in Israel, when the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the LORD!”

Note: Leader in Hebrew is para` which means to act as leader, go before, direct, place in the front of the battle; - it occurs 16 times in the Old Testament. Sad, America has no credible and respectable leaders today. After Richard Nixon, American leaders have led America astray, turning the Republic into an evil empire bent on world domination. These leaders placed the young Americans in the front of unjust and useless wars and died needlessly. People should offer themselves willingly in doing what is right, not in doing evil.

IX.   How the Lord Blesses.

1.   With blessings of heaven above...

Gen 49:25,“By the God of your father who will help you, and by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.”

Note: Blessings of heaven above include salvation and all spiritual blessings. Blessings of the deep that lies beneath must include spring water, minerals, oil, etc. Blessings of the breasts mean mother has milk to feed her babies. Blessings of the womb mean the woman is fertile. Not every saint will have the blessings of the breasts and the womb. For examples, John the Baptist, Stephen and Paul.

2.   God will bless your bread and your water.

Exd 23:25,“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”

Note: To have bread and water and good health are indeed great blessings. It reminds me a rich man who was a founder of a famous corporation in America who had a terminal disease and died young. Water is so vital in a wasted, polluted and abused earth; it may be more expensive than oil in the near future.

3.   The Lord turned the curse into a blessing.

Deu 23:5, “Nevertheless, the LORD your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the LORD your God loves you.”

Note: It is wonderful to know that the Lord can turn the curse into a blessing. The Lord many times has turned my troubles into blessings, difficulties into opportunities.

4.   The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns.

Deu 28:8,“The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”

Note: For every farmer, the blessings of the Lord in the barns with good harvest are precious. I recall in 1985 when I first went to China, food was rationed because of scarcity; you need food coupon to buy food. Today China has plenty to eat. There are still many nations suffering shortage of food, water, and other necessities. There are some countries when their people are suffering because lack of food and other necessities, and yet governments wasted taxpayers money in buying warplanes, warships, aircraft carriers, missiles, etc.

5.   The Lord bless you and keep you.

Num 6:24-26,“The LORD bless you, and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.”

Note: To be blessed and kept by God, to have the Lord to make His face shine on you and be gracious to you and to have the Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace is much much better than to be the richest and most powerful man in the United States.

1Ch 4:10,“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying: Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! So God granted him what he requested.”

Note: It is a great blessing for the Lord to keep you from evil. There is too much evil on earth, and you never know what kind of evil may strike you anytime. A simple example, some rich people played golf and they were struck by thunders and lightnings. One whole family was killed in a car accident. Thousands were swallowed up by tsunamis. Millions were killed by imperialists and terrorists. Evil is unlimited, blessing is limited.

6.   Like the dew of Hermon coming down upon the mountain of Zion.

Psa 133:3,“It is like the dew of Hermon Coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing—life forever.”

Note: There is no blessing like the blessing of eternal life.

Jhn 5:24,“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

Note: Would you listen to the Word of Jesus and believe in Him sent by God to save sinners so that you may have eternal life?

7.   The blessing of the Lord that makes rich.

Pro 10:22,“It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.”

Note: To have the blessing of riches without sorrow is very rare. There was a very rich man in America who was worried that his daughter might be kidnapped and he himself contracted a terminal disease and died young. To be rich in the faith is better than to be rich in money.

8.   Pour out My Spirit on your offspring.

Isa 44:3,“For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring and My blessing on your descendants.”

Note: As men polluted and damaged the earth, there are more and more thirsty land and dry ground. Oil is expensive today and by monopoly oil makes OPEC and oil companies very rich. The biggest transfer of wealth takes place in America from American drivers to Arab oil-producing nations and oil companies which earn high profits. The day is coming water (clean water) may be more expensive than oil. Just as thirsty land and dry ground need water and streams, so men need the Holy Spirit to receive a new life. The gift of the Holy Spirit is to have eternal life – which is much more important than water or oil.

9.   There will be showers of blessing.

Eze 34:26,“I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing. And I will cause showers to come down in their season; they will be showers of blessing.”

Note: Showers of blessing are great blessing. Ask those people who suffer drought. The artificial method of making rain does not always work or produce desired result. There are many parts of China are suffering severe drought and even rivers run dry. Reforestation, tree walls to withstand sand storms and ecology management are vital. Above, may more Chinese people come to the knowledge of Christ and receive the living water.

10.   I will save you that you may become a blessing.

Zec 8:13,“It will come about that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you that you may become a blessing. Do not fear; let your hands be strong.”

Note: This promise was for the Israel. God will eventually save the house of Judah and house of Israel. Now look and see which nation is a curse among the nations? The warmonger, the troublemaker, the aggressor, the international bully – the nation that is bent on world domination.

11.  I will pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.

Mal 3:10,“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”

Note: This has been used as the basis of prosperity gospel by its agents. Two things must be made clear:

(A). Christians are not required to bring tithe, churches and ministers are not the storehouse or depository.

(B). The Old Testament material blessings are downgraded in the New Testament and replaced by spiritual blessings.

Eph 1:3-4,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love.”

Note: Spiritual blessings in Christ are heavenly, not earthly or material or monetary. Those who seek material or monetary blessings in Christ are the most pitiable and miserable. He who seeks the below and not the above does not have the Holy Sprit in him.

12.   Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

Eph 1:3,“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

Note: Spiritual blessings are many, among them are the eternal life, the fruit of the Spirit, the fruit of the Light, and the fruit of righteousness.

Gal 5:22,“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

Note: Prosperity gospel preachers and followers do not value the fruit of the Spirit; they love money, power and sex.

Eph 5:9,“For the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth.”

Note: Imperialists, capitalists and terrorists do not have goodness and righteousness and truth.

Phl 1:11,“Having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

Note: The fruit of righteousness comes only through Jesus Christ.

13.   The Lord bless and keep you.

Num 6:24,“The LORD bless you and keep you.”

Note: Keep in Hebrew is shamar which means to guard, observe, give heed, protect, preserve, take care; - it occurs 468 times in the Old Testament.

It is wonderful to be blessed and kept by the Lord of the universe. Recently there was the founder of a famous American corporation who was very rich and powerful, yet he lived in fear that his daughter might be kidnapped. The sole superpower has more 700 military bases all over the world, and yet it could not, cannot and will not be able to protect its citizens as 9-11 had demonstrated. Those who rely on military might will be destroyed as history has attested that all empires crumbled and collapsed.

14.   The Lord makes you a thousand times more numerous

Deu 1:11,“May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!”

Deu 7:13,“And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.”

Note: Those promises of blessings were mainly for the children of Abraham. There are false prophets and false preachers who misappropriate the Word of God and proclaim a false gospel called prosperity gospel. In this world, it does not matter whether you are many and rich; it matters whether you are children of God with the promise of eternal life.

15.   God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

Deu 14:29,“And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.”

Deu 15:10,“You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.”

Deu 15:18,“It shall not seem hard to you when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant in serving you six years. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all that you do.”

Deu 16:15,“Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you surely rejoice.”

Note: The works of the hands of imperialists are deadly and destructive which God cannot bless. The works of the hands of capitalists are greedy and fraudulent and exploitative which God will not bless.

16.   God will bless you to lend and not borrow.

Deu 15:6, “For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.”

Note: Let American Christians wake up from spiritual slumber. A nation blessed by God is able to lend and not to borrow. The United States is the biggest debtor nation in the world, while China despised by American leaders is the biggest lender nation in the world. You cannot escape the conclusion that in spite of everything China is doing better than the self-righteous America. I hold the truth that Chinese Christians most of them are true believers of Christ, they are not foreign agents, and they are not agents of imperialism; and so it would be good if China lets Christians to freely propagate and practice the Christian faith without getting permission from the Three Self-Reliance organization to preach the Gospel and establish Christian churches. True Chinese Christians are patriotic but our Kingdom is not of this world. People are driven by imperialism, capitalism, materialism and secularism are not true believers.

17.   The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses.

Deu 28:8,“The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

Deu 28:12,“The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

Note: These are the favorite Scriptures of the preachers of prosperity gospel. They miss the whole point. Those who stress the material and monetary above the spiritual and eternal do not know the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. In heaven, the streets are paved with gold; something you tread and walk on, not something to cherish and treasure. Spiritual blessings are what everyone should seek.

18.   God will bless with blessing.

Hbr 6:14,“Saying: Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”

Note: There is no doubt that God has blessed China because God has multiplied so many Chinese. The true blessing of God is not earthly or material; it is spiritual which is eternal. The gift of God which is the eternal life in Jesus Christ is the greatest blessing.

19.   In Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to you.

Gal 3:14,“In order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Note: The blessing of Abraham by promise comes to all who believe.

Jhn 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”

Note: As many as people who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, to them God gives the right to become children of God, that is to those who believe in His name.

Question: What is the blessing promised to Abraham?

Rom 3:22,“Even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction.”

Note: There is no distinction means it does not matter whether you are Jews or Gentiles; the righteousness of God is given through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe. To believe in Jesus Christ means to accept Him as your Lord and Savior with all your heart and confess Him before the public that you are His follower.

This the day of salvation, this is the acceptable time. No matter who you are and where you, would you come now to put your faith in Jesus Christ?

If you do accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all the spiritual and heavenly blessings are yours. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
